Did Dawson duck Diaconu when Diaconu pulled out of their fight last fall? And how could Dawson duck him for two years when Chad himself hasn't been a beltholder for two years. Did he duck Diaconu by fighting Adamek? :nut

Point is, Diaconu has a lot of money behind him, and it's up to his people to secure a big fight. I have no beef with it, but you can't really argue that Branco is a major bout. If Adrian wants to get into the Tarver/Dawson mix at 175, he needs to bolster his resume.

 

What did Johnson offer whom? Diaconu's people want a big fight against a name opponent in Romania, and Glen Johnson could be that guy. I'm not blaming them at all for getting the most out of a limited fighter that they can, though.

It's not really about age. Branco is a has-been, and while I believe Tarver is shot as well, he does hold a belt and did beat a credible beltholder in his most recent fight.

 

So what is wrong with Branco as a first title defense?He is a 2 time 175 lb champion,you know who Dawson had his first title defense?****ing Jesus ''I am so bum" Ruiz,a real ''challenge''.

 

Whether Dawson ducked Diaconu or not, Diaconu is definately not ducking Johnson.

People are calling Diaconu a punk for not fighting Johnson and yet praising Dawson for not fighting Diaconu. Get the **** out of here. What a double standard.

Diaconu was willing to fight anyone to get a title but he didn't have to because the champ chose to vacate it rather than fight his mandatory. Now he is the champ.

If he wants to fight Bronco instead of Johnson because right now the fight is in higher demand then that's perfectly acceptable. Didn't Dawson just turn down Diaconu's offer for the same reason? Yet Dawson is amazing and Diaconu is a punk? get real.

First he was injured in training camp for the fight in september,it was a legitimate injury,tissue damage pretty bad.How could Dawson duck him for 2 years?Diaconu and Dawson who were top ranking contenders for Adameks WBC title and they were supposed to meet in a title eliminator in september of 2006 but good old Gary Shaw wanted none of Diaconu so instead they just waited a few months to fight Adamek directly and Diaconu was supposed to fight Rico Hoye in march in an eliminator but he injured his leg in training.Dawson being champ and not wanting to fight Diaconu,was setting up a fight with Hoye,hearin this Diaconu fought Hoye at 50% in may an we all now what happened from there...
