Dick Tiger's resume so monumentally takes a dump on Floyd's that it's hard to build a case for Mayweather, even if you think he has the better ability.

I mean, consider this, from the time he became champ, did Tiger really perform any less consistently than Mayweather did?

Yes he lost to Giardello, Archer, Griffith (once unfairly) and Foster, but did Floyd even FACE anyone as good as those guys around the time he fought them? My answer? Nup. And Floyd still has an arguable loss to Castillo and imo, even DLH.

I see no reason to presume that if Floyd faced the level of comp that Tiger did that he comes off any more successfully or consistently.

If you want to look at their whole careers and broaden the range of opponents, you could extend Floyd's list to look like this:

    Floyd:
    DeLaHoya
    Hatton
    Gatti
    Corrales
    Castillo (twice)
    Baldomir
    Judah
    G. Hernandez
    Chavez
    Manfredy
    Corley
    N'Dou
    Sosa
    C. Hernandez
    Vargas
    Gerena
    Augustus

But on the flipside, you'd still have:

    Tiger:
    Fullmer (twice)
    Giardello (twice)
    Benvenuti
    Torres (twice)
    Downes
    Carter
    Fernandez
    Hank
    Webb
    Armstrong (three times)
    Pompey
    Rouse
    Kendall
    Mims
    Casey
    Rivero
    Gonzales
    DePaula
    Zalazar
    Don Fullmer
    Greaves
    Sandy
    Pickett
    McAteer

Tiger's list still outdoes Floyd's IMO.

I think Carlos Hernandez and Chavez are good wins personally, remember after he beat them, they were figuring in world class operating bouts. And he was more consistent than Tiger as has been said, whereas Tiger has probably better wins, Floyd has some quality ones. The man proved his greatness in my eyes at 130.
