:happy It's a really good fight in patches - after all, these were two of the best MW's in the world at that time. I think this one shows how good Tiger was in areas he tends to get underated in - he is a technically good boxer, with a much, much better jab than he gets credit for, and a better defence. Anyway, enjoy! [yt]gcTqbZi6_G4[/yt] [yt]WZGySWKchn4&feature=related[/yt]
Yep, I've been saying this forever - Tiger is one of the best inside technicians and counterpunchers of all time. Many people seem to think he beat guys on the inside just on his sheer strength and power, but that's inaccurate. He combined his strength and power with very good technical skill. He was great at picking off punches at close quarters. I think the fact that people have picked fighters like Stanley Ketchel and John Mugabi over him in other threads shows how underrated or misunderstood the true extent of his ability really is. Personally, I don't think there's a middleweight that ever lived that could beat him in a head-on collision. What he does here to Fernandez, he's done to every other fighter that has tried to stand and fight him.
remember seeing this as a kid, wonder if you gentlemen would compare/rate tiger with hop, monzon, trinidad ,hagler. floro with hamsho,2 other fighters in tourney with hop trinidad.:hi:
