Could the strong big hitting ,Pavlik take the Tigers "roar" and prevail .or would the Nigerian warrior ,who manhandled guys like Rubin Carter walk through his shots and grind him down?

Pavlik is an excellent puncher, but has nothing that would make a prime Tiger worry too much. Tiger could take what Pavlik would land, get inside of Pavlik's long arms, bang away at his body, and slowly break him down. I'd pick Tiger to stop Pavlik late.

    Tiger UD.

It would be a very good fight though, and there would probably be a II. In the II, Pavlik could perhaps work up the right kind of plan with the right kind of help.

I think this would be a great fight. IMO Pavlik would get drawn into the kind of slugging match Tiger excelled at. I'll take Tiger by UD. Tiger has the strength to deal with Pavlik's size.

Maybe it isnt fair to Pavlik, who hasn't really proven himself yet, but there's nothing to indicate that he could come near beating Dick Tiger. Tiger would be entirely too strong for him, and would grind him down with body shots and win decisively over 15 and maybe even stop him late.

I kind of agree with Red Cobra. At this point, I'd take Tiger, but I think Pavlik's resume is far from complete. Maybe 5 years from now I'd have a different take on it.

Good answer. Pavlik is only 26, and with his 90% KO ratio, 34 fights only adds up to 127 rounds of boxing (3.75 rounds per fight average.) He's is still 18-24 months, and 3-4 big fights, away from his peak. He plans to move to 168 next year because making 160 is a serious strain. I suspect he will finish his career at 175. We will not remember him as a great middleweight. The division is just to thin for him to build much of a legacy, and he is to big to stay there much longer.
