Dick Tiger would have manhandled Duran. He was far stronger than Duran...and Duran wasn't as strong as Griffith...who had Tiger's number IMO.
It is not so much a stretch of Duran's greatness as it is an insult to Dick Tiger's ability to suggest the Panamanian would win. Let's not go gooey with sentiment here, Tiger was a great middleweight, one who could have squeezed distress signals out of Marvin Hagler. A high degree of intuition may of hoaxed Iran Barkley, but Tiger would charge after the superfluous, stumpy-armed fighter, and Ted Spoon will be damned if Duran's going to pull off the same close-quartered threading he did against Leonard. Tiger, and ugly.
