Just back from a good night of boxing where we were aware of the tv issues but not too what extreme. First up Jackson v razak. Jackson won clear points decision on his debut very standard razak fight where he keeps out if danger and the younger fighter pot shots to victory. Travis Dickinson v meilke. Travis won 40-36. Very straight forward win tho unfortunately travis seems not to be developing at all and was getting desperate and falling into his shots. Travis struggled to land cleanly but this meilke is a right character spent whole fight playing to the crowd. Paul archer v Kevin McCauley. Archer won 58-57. This was a very scrappy fight in which archer never really got going and looked to have been out worked by the rough house tactics McCauley employed. Robert Dixon v marek laskowski. Dixon clear points win. This was the snoozer of the night with a lack of action apart from occasional straight shots from Dixon Gary Cornish v Jakob gospic. Cornish won ko 4. Cornish controlled 1st with jab and in 2nd started to use right hand and apply steady pressure. In the 3rd Cornish opened up more and started tontagretnthe body with good accuracy. 4th short right to jaw ends fight. This opponent was in horrendous condition barely through a punch and looked a fat greasy mess and was waiting for a decent punch to end it. Anthony Nelson v Marcus croes. Nelson 60-54. Great actioned packed fight in which although one sided croes kept going. Nelson fought at. Great tempo and through non stop punches to head and body to dominate. Nelson looks like he has good potential. JLD v Dolan. JLD won ud 118-111x2 117-110 which was a very fair reflection I scored it 117-111. The majority of rounds were close but JLD would throw and land more and as the fight wore on his short 1-2 down the middle caught Dolan time again. Dolan used rough tactics with his head which he was warned and was dropped in the 10th but survived the onslaught. The main issue Dolan had was his lack of head movement and JLD would catch him with energy sapping short straight shots and uppercuts. Great effort from both and a much improved JLD display. Dolan gave his all but his timing wasn't here and he couldn't land the shots to prevent JLD bossing this. Peter cope v David lake. Cope won 40-37. Excellent fight in wich there were some great exchanges but cope with his huge reach and accuracy raved away with this busting lake up and dropping him on route to the decision. Strange scoring he as cope should of won every round and 1round 10-8 yet given as 40-37. Also if you haven't seen Peter cope his fans are crazy! Non stop chanting the whole night and he sells a load of tickets one to watch
was a cracking night. didn't realise the tv issues were so bad. where were you sitting? anyway top night of boxing great show. I thought paul archer was a bit lucky to get that decision but overall good night.
Just to left of the ring mate near the high calibre cuisine! Archer never got going mate and lacked a spark he should of lost. Was good night and atmosphere if another one can be put on soon with a few genuine tests coz the likes of archer, Dixon, cope and nelson are ready for a step up. Impressed with JLD prob didn't come across on tv but the short little shots he landed were so impressive stopped Dolan in his tracks so often
been speaking to archer's trainer today coz he takes the coaching courses n he made a good point that the mcauly was using a lot of dirty tricks and maybe the reff scored it against him but it was if it was close deffo as a 18 minute fight mcauly
Theres going to be another show in April. Phil said he was getting Glenn out again soon so he could be on that one - don't think Bradley will as he is under ****** and he'll not be out for a couple more months as he has had hand surgery and has just got back in the gym now. I think he said Loaded want to do more on TV so it could be on the box again. I havent re-watched the show yet so don't know how bad the technical problems were - hopefully they'll sort it out for next time around.
