When did this session go down? I thought it was around 03 or 04? Rahman and Peter were in 06.

LOL Vitaly fought some cruisers. Hide and Norris come to mind. They lasted a combined three rounds.

In a real fight, Vitali would Give James Toney a beating. Sam Peter, not the most skilled boxer beat Toney Twice on points. Need I Say more?

Toney had a chance to fight Wlad for his title when he had none. He refuses, and took a nontitle fight for less money,

Toney was fat and old in those fights. If Byrd can make Vitali bad, Toney would give him even more fits.Styles make fights.

Toney easily won that first fight. Most would agree on that. Compare his winning effort to Wlads 'winning effort'.

Why was 250 pound fit and prime Wlad running away all over the ring and holding on for his dear life ?. On top of being bounced up and down 3 times?
I dont ever remember Toney having to desperately hold on , or run away. His boxing skills were enough to best Peters.
By right , Wlad should have a DQ loss for both fights against Peter. Harlod Lederman was screaming for him to be disqualified. He was a worse octopus in the rematch.

Why couldn't he cleanly beat an unskilled plodder like Peter? His performances both time were an insult to the sweet science. Bums like Peter are meant to make you look good , not bad. Helenius looked like liked a throwback to the good ol days against him ffs.

Remember people actually ranked Wlad as a top 10 ATG:jaja-no::periodico::chuck:

    The voice of reason.

Dude, find something of substance to say about anything non-Wlad and maybe people will take you seriously.

Whats it got to do with me? Have I said anything that wasn't a truth?

If its only me who see's this , why did the trainer of Bryant Jennings make an appeal to the boxing board of New York to make Wlad fight within the rules?

Under K2 rules , Jennings woulda been drained to a husk and stopped. In a proper officiated match , he went 12 laborious rounds and never came close to stopping a guy who had the skills of a novice.
That ref made it clear to him he had to box under the rules , and after the first few warnings , you could see the confidence drain out of him. Why couldn't he easily blow away Jennings like Ortiz did? Why was he holding on to a novice like Jennings so badly it later resulted in a point deduction?
We're talking about a guy who some people class as a top 5 ATG here.

I heard Toney spared Vitali over 10 years ago now, never heard of any KO and really couldn't see that happening whatsoever, but I remember hearing that Vitali struggled to deal with Toney.

I have always said that things much stranger than fiction happen in sparring.

Toney is a most frustrating fighter, because you are left wondering what he might have been, if he had a work ethic to match his talent!

So you're assuming that Toney will be fighting Vitali, who took the Bryd fight as a sub, and tore his shoulder up? Maybe then Toney would have a chance.

Toney was a talker. He'd give Vitali even more motivation to beat on him, similar to what Briggs said prior to the fight.

Vitali beats on Toney. No contest. Toney never gets past VK's Jab, would be wary of his power, and looking to hang on the ropes and counter, except Vitali is no fool and would win as he pleased.

James was close to 210 when he sparred Vitali.. I know he was awkward and offered Vitali some issues with movement.. but knocked out.. no.. no one was knocked out.. James was more content in beating up on small heavyweights like Terry Smith..

Wladimir Klitschko was about 16 years old when Toney was last 160lb .
We'd have to go back to 1992, the Cold War had only just ended. Ukraine was newly independent country. No one ever heard of Wladimir Klitschko and there's no reason why Toney would be sparring him.

Who cares what happened during sparring? Do you know who the greatest sparring partners of all time where? No of course not! Because it just doesn't matter!
