I thought it was a general consensus Abril got robbed, but have been seeing more posters saying he didn't. This isn't about if you like his style or not, did he do what was needed to win a UD against Rios that night? This also isn't a shot at Rios. He put on a great performance Saturday and his future performances have nothing to do with the fight against Abril. This is to get a poll up and see who feels what way.
Yes he was robbed...still not understanding how some fans can sit back and accept this robbery because they felt Abril didnt fight a certain way...This kind of BS should be left out of boxing but you have some fans thinking its cool to rob a fighter. Thats the thing I'm not quite understanding.:-(
It's not obvious to certain posters, just seeing if they'll come to this thread and vote/give their reasons for it.. :good
I'm not even worried about those guys that don't like his style though, although I don't agree I somewhat understand that.. There's posters who really believe Rios did more and Abril did nothing.. I want to know what they saw...
Horrible robbery. Just because fans don't appreciate a certain style, doesn't mean they can suddenly change the scoring system to suit a favoured style. The goal is to hit and not get hit. Effective clean punches win a round. Abril did more than enough to secure the victory.
Thanks for the response! Do you know which rounds you gave Rios? If not, you know if you gave him majority of the last rounds or anything?
I was keeping score on my phone...but I stopped because I was distracted. After 6, I had Abril winning 4-2. I might just rescore it right now.
119-109 Abril. Anyone who thinks it wasn't the worst robbery of the year is a troll, a butthurt Rios fan, or doesn't know how to score a fight.
On voting yes I was taken to a **** thread from 2007. Why is this? http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=34141
Same thing happened to me. :think I sure hope Haggis doesn't vote in this poll, as otherwise he'll have to respond to every Dana White criticism from 2007 across 11 pages.
