Ok so you had Rios winning majority of the latter rounds.. Thanks! Didn't agree upon first watch, but will watch some of the latter rounds again.
Either I suck at polls or something weird happened.. I'm going with a little of both. Happened to me as well.. :-(
He most definitely did get robbed, brah. People can say he stunk the joint, but I personally felt he put in a very clever display that not many fighters could pull off. Rios ain't no joke on the inside, and Abril sonned him.
No.. Just wondering what the posters who believe Rios won saw.. I saw Abril win clearly and thought it was what we all saw.. Hermit hasn't visited this thread, but he's going on and on in another about how Rios won.. Don't want to derail that thread anymore since it wasn't specifically about that, was hoping he'd bring his thoughts to this thread for people to debate.. And he's just one poster I've seen saying Rios won, he just sticks out in my head because I've read his comments recently, even after this thread was made.
my last reply to him Quote: Originally Posted by Hermit Buy the ref so you can hold 86 times without a points deduction? Brilliant! Erm no ofcourse not he`d have got his ears further boxed off!!! So as for the holding stuff it was as much Rios fault as it was Abril ... Its called a clash of styles but rios fans chose to blame Abril. But as rudyard has said why should abril fight to Rios strengths, how about rios try and keep space???? And yes you know why not. You are one of a slim minority
Basically, Abril fought a negative, cagey fight and some fans find that frustrating. If their chosen fighter can't deal with it, then it's natural to hear things like: "he was making the fight" or my favourite "he was outworking him". It's hurt feelings, mostly, rather than rational argument. Abril was being negative, but he was stopping Rios from being effective with legal tactics. But, if the referee doesn't take points off and the "spoiling" fighter is landing the cleaner, more effective shots - well you have to give it to them. Just because Rios "came to battle" doesn't give him any special advantage.
