App.. If you're talking amatuer or pro, there's plenty who have won state and national inside 5 bouts mate.

One legend of the Pro ranks being Fearless Fred Casey.. Aust H/W crown in his 3rd bout.. Harold Harwick (the man who 'killed' Les Darcy) won the Oz H/W crown in his 1st Pro bout..

...then again, a name close to your own.. Appo.. defeating Rick Budgen in Lyall's 3rd? pro bout for the Oz crown.. Yes, there's more mate..

 

If we're going pro, didnt Katsidis win the state in his 1st, and aus title in his 2nd fight?

Soliman won the aus cruiserweight title in his 2nd fight too...

I was trying to see if we could pinpoint who Johnny was.. I never read it by Ty keeps insisting that Johnny said he won a state title within 5 fights..

I think even Mundine won an aussie title within 5 didnt he?

 

and I guess bringing up Huss was to shut Ty up in regards to a novice winning a senior state title... to quote him "it's unheard of" Im sure there's gotta be a few .. thats gotta suck when you've had 58 fights with no reward and a guy picks up the NSWABA state title in his 5th fight

You mentioned a few more pro crowns in short time, and my rickety lil' brain has been overflowin.. I'd bet there's close to 30 state and national titles that have been won inside 5 bouts. That is no indication of the Ams.. Novice, Junior in state and nationals??

I know a amature from the nineties who won an NT title in his second fight.
Fought in the arafura games and fairly certain he faced off against Danny Green in his 3rd
amature outing.

lol I was watching the kickett fight against trigger with a good mate and I bet kickett would beat the sh*t out of Elomar. I had to eat my words and use the pic as both my desktop wallpaper and my ESB account pic, and now it's grown on me :good

 

He was around 31-32 at that time, plus he was killing himself making the weight. I remember that time Freddy was out, Joe Laferla told him to retire i think.

 

I liked Joe... Freds still going at it... No need to retire, he doesnt fight much (I think he is 6-1 or something like that). He is a professional sparring partner..

He told me he was offered Daniel Dawson fight here a few weeks back..
