Did AJ look bad to get the Fury fight?

    I hope the 19k were entertained by his 12 rounds of safety first vs fringe man Franklin. He was cherry picked to make Joshua look good and it didn't quite work out. Dear old Howard couldn't even give him a Brit stoppage like he did Wardley. Poor display whether intended or not.

    I’ve said before that In AJ at his best can beat Fury (who is overrated). But the AJ of the other day would get schooled. He needs to lose a stone, work on footwork movement and let loose more with his hands.

    My wife, who doesn't follow boxing too closely, had that same idea.

    After the fight, when I told her that I didn't understand all the calls for AJ to retire as he was "shot," despite a near shut-ou of Franklin, she wondered if AJ could be playing possum to get a shot at the big Guy.

    I don't put a lot of stock in that theory.

    I think he was just being cautious, given what was a stake.

    He did look a bit distracted and unfocused though.

    Lol at the thought anyone with an ego the size of AJ's is going to purposefully make themselves look bad.
