He's not as bad as Remnick in my view.

The Fight? Yeah, it's pretty good. Mailer giant sized-ego can be hard to stomach at the best of times though. I prefer his fiction.

I think Foreman was a victim of a quick count by maybe a half a second.

Let's say he gets up just after the count of nine. Foreman has only a few seconds left in the round, then a 60 second break in his corner.

Could Foreman go a few more rounds? Maybe.

I'm not talking about then and there, and hey - he did make a proper and full effort to beat the 10! :D

Cheers. There wasn't a single second left in the round.

This is the fight Ive seen more than any other, closely followed by EM MAB 1 & my view is......

    I voted for no1... 100% KO.

George gets up right between 9 & 10, Ive seen many fights & that usually gets your ass stopped via KO or at the very least a TKO which tells me that George wasnt quite with it when he got up or he would have timed the count better & the ref knew it.

If it was allowed to go on, Ali would have won by TKO anyway (even tho the rd was as good as over, big George would need a lot more than a minute to regroup) as Ali was 1 of the best finishers in the game due to his composure, accuracy & overlooked ruthlesness..... NO WAY Foreman survives if the ref lets that go on, no way.

The best HWT ever won the most famous fight in history as an underdog by KO... some things are just meant to be I guess.

    :thumbsup

Do we really need so many threads about such a pointlessly trivial topic? Foreman was clearly up at nine. However, he was clearly finished and didn't even seem all that interested in continuing anyway. The referee clearly consdiered the fight over, and legitimately so.

You can't say that Marciano_Frazier. Fighters can suddenly come too. 60 seconds is a long time.

Foreman body language was that of a defeated man after the ref stopped the match, but he had no signs of being weak or having bad ballance.

Give Foreman 60 seconds, and I think he's going to make it through another round.

George Foreman was bested by the greatest Heavyweight of all time, and he wouldn't have recovered even if he was given the chance.

Ali, the greatest of all time. :good
