Amir appeared to be tired on the 6th round as compared to his previous fights when he was under conditioning coach Alex Ariza. Did he make a mistake in dumping his former conditioning coach? There's a saying "When ain't broke, why fix it?" IMO, he did.
In the long term I think so it seems that Roach and Ariza work together. Aparently Roach suguested Khan as an possible oppoent for Pacquiao an Ariza client. I have the felling that the Roach/Khan relantionship is coming to an end. I'm not a big Freddy Roach fan but He's a great trainer and Mananger, who knows the game. Khan is going to be hard pressed to find better.
I don't think so re possible end of Roach-Ariza partnership. Roach designated Ariza as officer in charge of Pac's training while he was away to be in Khan's corner. Ariza is no longer Ariza's client.
You might be on to something. Roach was talking about a Khan - Pac fight the other day. Just as a hypothetical but still.... you never hear trainers even mentioning both of their fighters facing each other. It makes more sense especially with Khan dumping half of the azira/roach team, roach is kind of suggesting its coming to an end
He got tired because he was missing much. And I honestly believe that he didn't expect it to be a hard fight so he wasn't really mentally prepared. Well, it wasn't a hard fight but it was awkward.
You got the old news. Read the scene again and you can see Roach meant it as a joke. He's not going to pit Khan with Pac.
You better believe it. Khan's jab against McCloskey is like the worst ever. Compare his jab when he fought Paulie and Kotelnik and it's miles in difference. Him lunging from five feet away and almost telegraphing everything is the direct result of his conditioning. He was not as explosive that night considering the fact that he started early training in England then to the Philippines with Manny. It can't be coincidence. Khan's quikness that night isn't the same when he was with Ariza :deal
