Did Amir Khan prove anything about his chin?

    Has his chin improved?

Not sure about that. He seems to have improved on protecting it and keeping it out of harms way. But you can't help but wonder how he'll cope against someone who's more aggressive and heavy handed. In my opinion, he's not ready to tackle fresh and hungry monsters like Maidana and Ortiz. He still has some way to go

Q: Would the gomez clipping shot have knocked amir down at 140?
    A: No

Therefore his chin has improved. I think people need to look back at some of his earlier fights and realise how bad his chin was. At the moment he seems to handle a knock or two well which is a vast improvement from before.

I'd like to add another point too and that is, Kotelnik is a world class operator and a solid champion not to mention a natural counter puncher. Kotelnik's connect percentage was 15%. Even though kotelnik only has a 31% ko ratio the man still has some dig at world level (not domestic level) and seemed as though he was completely frustrated in the fight and was forced to fight aggresively on the front foot. Remember another thing also, and that is amir is only going to get better and stronger from here as her matures into his prime years between the ages of 26-28.

He proved it isn't absolutely disgustingly incredibly outrageously godawful, as some of us may have thought. I didn't see anything really definitive in the way of damaging punches landed by Kotelnik though. He hardly squared anything, and he never got full and complete extension/leverage. Definately nothing on the button either. The weight was beneficial.

His chin was being exaggerated a hell of a lot. It's like people just expected him to take one clean shot and go down.

Nope. He beat a carefully selected feather-fisted titlist. Khan's chin is STILL grade A china and he will be laid out COLD by the first decent puncher he faces!

It took less than a clean shot from gomez to put khan down at 135. But khan will never satisfy the chin checkers until he fights valero, and goes toe to toe and knocks him out, apparently thats what boxing is all about.

I couldn't take Khan serious because of his chin. But after wining last night I can consider him a good fighter. I wish him the best mostly because he was getting killed here at ESB for his chin. For him to come back from such an embarrassing loss to where he is now has made me a fan.
