I can evade punches going back but punching going back & still being accurate is pretty tricky. Much respect to those who can do it because it's beautiful to watch. Ray Robinson was one of the few that could KO a guy while moving backwards.
I have been on this site for about 2 weeks and you are the first guy to actually get his point across in a debate without a drop of negativity or vulgarity and it is quite refreshing. Best post I have seen on a boxing site in a very long time.:good
Someone who was really good at backing guys up and getting them off balance and get out was "Terrible" Terry Norris. He made a career of inflicting damage and guarding against a SUSPECT chin by never letting guys get set vs. him. Julian Jackson was the exception, but he learned from his mistake.
man the article said there were concerns about this injury BEFORE the Ward fight even happend. ward didnt cause it.
It was a factor, but his age and fragile hands also aren't helping him. I always liked Ward, until that fight, now I am looking foward to Lucian, knocking him out.
There were headbutts and that's about it, I admit some were clearly intentional but did that fight all alone ruin Kessler?, hell no. Kessler isn't ruined, he's ruined to Calzaghe supporters to save face, but in reality that's what Kessler really is. He wasn't that good to begin with, he's decent fighter but is he the ATG assassin Calzaghe fans make him look to be?, hell no. Calzaghe fans would start a Manfredo Jr. or Ashira bandwagon(s) if they made some noise. I can already see a Sakio Bika bandwagon starting. You want to know what type of fights ruin fighters?, check out circus shows that take place in England. Tszyu/Hatton, Ruiz/Haye, Dirrell/Froch, McClellan/Benn and endless other examples. Those are circus shows, Ward/Kessler is hardly a circus show.
Number of post doesn't mean you know boxing (scientifically proven just by reading some of your post). You can still be a noob. So long ANglo, Headgiver, sherpass....:hi:
Kessler is not the same fighter he was when Joe, fought him. He had surgery on his hand after that fight and then a long layoff, he is still good though, as he proved in his victory over Froch.
