Did Ann Wolfe ruin James Kirkland or was he a good influence?

ROFLMAO !! Ann & Pops Billingsly took Kirkland in & tried hard to straighten him out. He didn't have what it takes. He couldn't stay out of trouble long enough to do much. Ann didn't make any fighters I saw there, do anything she wouldn't do herself. One tough lady

Kirkland’s bad decisions outside the ring destroyed his career. The drama with Wolfe was entertaining but she was a mediocre trainer at best. James was a a C level fighter who had his minute in the spotlight. He was never as good as he was hyped up to have been. Glass jaw and slow are a bad combo.

 

It’s ridiculous.

 

She would get you in the best cardio shape of your life if she didn’t kill you

 

And you would leave all your best performances in the gym

 

And I think this is overlooked. How,many brutal sparring matches did Kirkland have?
Because you can have the greatest chin in the world but at some point your body is not going to be able to take it anymore.
She was way too extreme.

 

Since when did boxing fans get so soft? Kirkland is a brawler and Ann Wolfe is more of a motivational coach than anything else. Kinda like when Gatti hired Ward as his coach. It wasn't to learn how to throw a jab. It was to get his mind in the right place.

 

And his body. Her farm, which she invited me to visit at one time, was known to make or break a man. I passed on the visit of course

 

Partying and not being disciplined ruined james Kirkland. I saw him ringside at the cotto vs Mayweather fight double fisting cranberry vods.

She squeezed all she could out of Kirkland. His issues were he ran from the straight and narrow outside the ring. There was only so much that Kirkland was gonna accomplish. She trained him like a pit bull and got some good pit bull results. But a pit bull against is only gonna win so many times before it breaks down....................
