    Jeffries beat Fitz, Sharkey and Corbett within a 12 month period ( 1899-1900 ). Never saw another champ clear out the champ, and #1 and #2 guys in 12 months.

    Jeffries was entitled in 1901 to clear up an early career draw to Ruhlin. By the way, Ruhlin was floored twice in the first match, and ended the last round flat on his back only to be saved by the final bell.


    Fitz got his re-match.

    Corbett was one of the top two challengers when Jeffries first defended against him? He must have earned that position by losing his last two fights and having been retired for two years! :patsch

    Yes Fitzsimmons got his rematch .
