Did anyone else know that Brian Magee was offered to go in the Super 6 recently?

I read it in Boxing News that B Magee was offered to come into the Super 6 but turned it down to consentrate on his WBA title shot against Sartison. As you are probably aware G Johnson has filled the void now

Johnson was like the 3rd or 4th choice. They also offered the spot to Bika who turned it down. Which is part of the reason I doubt they find a replacement for Dirrell.

Why not bring in Marcus Johnson? As I recall, you have a fairly high opinion of him. He's green, but it would be a good chance to get him back on TV. What the hell happened to him anyway? He's seems to have fallen off the edge of the earth.

They probably did, but it obviously wasn't going to happen. DiBella promotes both Glen Johnson and Marcus Johnson (as well as Edwin Rodriguez), so there must be a reason if it was Marcus instead of Glen (either greater name value for Showtime, or DiBella didn't think Marcus was ready, or some combination). Marcus Johnson's been on TV all of once or twice, so it's not like he has any name recognition. At least with Magee you can say he's the European champion.

I don't get it with that kid. He beat a 25-0 guy on National television. It seems like they could have used that for a springboard to bigger and better things. He has a great look, he's reasonably articulate, sounds like a nice kid, and he does have some skills. Why does diBella have him on the shelf?

Bika already said no, Bute can't because of scheduling and Stieglitz already said no. Andrade's supposed to fight on the Pascal-Hopkins undercard, but I guess they could have him fight Ward if it's for better money. But Ward would just kick his ass anyway. Horrible style matchup for Andrade.

If Magee had of joined the Super 6 it would be the 3rd person to have been in the competition that Froch has already beaten and the 2nd that Froch would have KOd previously (Taylor pulled out, but was in originally).
Now Dirrell has most likely left, it is 2 fighters that Froch has wins over that have left the S6.

The shame of whats happend with the Super 6 is that we had J Taylor exit, replaced with A Green, then Kessler exit replaced with G Johnson, now Dirrell is having to exit, its a worry about who they might replace with. I doubt any top fighters would want to come in this late.

Still it would be a treat for the fans if a top fighter like Gutknecht, Balzsay, Sartison, etc was brought in
