I like him too, why you guys trippin? He unfrauded himself by taking on someone real, thus earning my respect. Ill actually feel sad for him when Kelly decapitates him next time.

Larry Merchant shits all over Max Kellerman. Merchant is the best announcer in any sport ever, except for maybe Harry Carey. HBO needs to bring my main man Merchant back ASAP.

I missed him badly, i even told a friend that i missed someone asking the fighters what we the people really wanted to know instead of what HBO wanted the people to hear, Kellermans a tool.

Kellerman is a really smart guy, and he knows the sport well.

The problem is he's such a smart aleck. I mean he must have interrupted Lamps like 10 times last night.

Kellerman annoys the hell out of me, but I think I like him better than Merchant already. Not a high bar to hurdle.

I agree with some previous posters that Kellerman isn't as bad as many make him out to be.

I hate Kellerman, Merchant's interviews are the best and even his stories before the fight are funny and informational. Lampley/Merchant were like Batman and Robin, now with Lampley/Kellerman you have 2 ****ing Robins.

And somthing else that annoys me about Kellerman:
It sure as **** looks like the little ***** wears ****ing eyeliner....giving some credence to the above Mohak quote.

Merchant adds an insight and an entertainment value that Kellerman (a pretty good character in his own right) can't add. They should have Larry on all of the big fights until he is totally senile.

Same here. I'm no fan of Larry Merchant, but at least he's qualified and has some insight. He should. He spent YEARS working as a boxing journalist before he became an HBO commentator, while all Kellerman did was host some rinky-dink cable show in NYC before Bill Cayton plucked him from obscurity.

If they replaced Merchant with someone qualified, or BETTER, like Al Bernstein, then I wouldn't miss him at all. But compared to this twerp, a thoroughly inebriated Merchant would be better!!:patsch
