Berto landed a couple of hard body shots in the 7th, right after that, Collazo put his hands down, as if to protect his body. Anyone else see that?

I thought, by far, his biggest flaw in this fight, was head hunting and not going to the body. I think he could've taken Collazo out within 10 if he had dedicated himself both to the head and body. Berto is the biggest head hunter in boxing.

    Thoughts?

Yup. I thought he knew he hurt Collazo in the body because he attempted to go right back to the body immediately after the first combo. After that I kept calling for more body shots Thinking he could get KO or a KD at least. Don't understand why he didn't continue with the body work.

So true. He relies completely on his athleticism and i think part of that problem is his trainer, as evidenced by what he said in between rounds. He told him to fight on the outside on rely on his hand speed (natural talent).

    I agree 100%

late in the 12th too, that one shot damn near put Collazo down.

Berto is a good body puncher, he usually goes to the body more, but not tonight.

Yes, the body shots were definitely bothering Collazo. I think Berto worked the body some in the early rounds though, if I remember correctly. But he could have worked it even more, especially with it clearly bothering Collazo.

This is amazing. There are people who actually see what i see. I am not crazy. I saw it in spots late in the fight when Berto landed a body shot, i thought it affected him. Berto didn't follow up. His mistake.

Was it me or did Berto seem less explosive then usual? Collazo fought a great fight no doubt, but I kept thinking Andre wasn't right.

He was right, it was the level of opposition IMO.

in spots, I think that had alot to do with Collazo too though.

Collazo wore him down in the middle rounds, Berto was gassed fairly early in the fight I think, he really had to dig for this one.

You know what's hilarious. Lou Dibella, in about the 9th round, was yelling at Berto to go to the body and throwing mock punches at his body. Also, that Filipino promoter or guy that show up in fights in the ring before fights was telling Berto to do the same.

    Hopefully, Berto learned something.

Berto was overall better conditioned also.

He handled Collazo's body shots much better than vice versa, and Collazo did land some good ones.

Berto has amazing stamina IMO considering how many haymaker, head hunting shots he completely missed. Those misses have to drain your energy.

^ yeah it really helped down the stretch. can't feel too badly about Collazo losing as he coughed up the last round

pretty big round to give up
