Did anyone else think billy joe could've made that fight a lot easier?

Both are domestic level and they are what they are.Going nowhere fast.

 

The ref made it as easy as it could be for him. With a neutral ref Suanders would have been sparked cold

 

Saunders doesn't seem to be able to box for 12 rounds. Always gets dragged into a war at some stage

 

oh come on it wasn't the referees fault saunders didn't get sparked out coldatsch it was the total carelessness of jnrs punches that he completely missed with, it had nothing to do with the ref why saunders wasn't koed it was because jnr came unstuck and wasn't fighting a shocking opponent..

 

A rematch could go any number of ways...si many 'ifs'.

If EBJ learns to simply throw the straight right - the 'southpaw-buster' since time began, that one change alone could have won him the first fight.

On the other hand if BJS boxes like he did against Spike he may well pitch a shutout in a rematch.
I cant see EBJ lasting much longer at 160 - he looked huge compared to Billy Joe in there.
Both men impressed me in different, sometimes surprising ways. Billy joe for the way he was able to match the bigger man for strength in the clinches, and CEJ for the considerable gumption he showed it sticking to his guns despite being so lacking and clueless in there. That big effort took guts and fitness on his part. All those 'Fresh Airs'...the ref was in more danger than BJS at times.....

 

BJS is a 154 fighter. He said he was thinking of moving up prior to the camp just gone, then decided to do the weight properly and realised it was easy for him to do 160.

Laughable really.

 

Well whether Billy moves down or Chris moves up....either way those two did not look the same size to me in there.

Whats your opinion on Andy Lee v Korobov?

 

Been massively unimpressed with Korobov since turning pro, but he's still got far too much for Lee at this stage. If you look at recent performances and try to be objective as possible, it looks a seriously tall order for Lee to beat Korobov.

Don't really understand the going up and down in weight with Lee either. It seems as if they've taken this fight at 160 purely because there's a title on the line.

 

My sentiments exactly. Winner here just keeping the title warm for BJS.

IMO if possible BJS should take a significant time out after the fight he just had. He's got a lot of things to work on before he's ready for world level.

 

I think he would have if he could have. Eubank Jr could have made the fight harder for Saunders if he had really gone all out from the opening bell.

 

a different ref could have brought more success for chris junior , one that let them fight more in clinches but id say both made each look a bit worse than what they are.

Saunders is decent but he has a lack of power he really needs to set someone up well to land a hard shot and he needs to work hard to get his style going a bit like malignaggi. I think if he picks his next fights well he could do alright world level.

Eubanks needs to find his style he has bad movement i think he needs to fight inside more , floyd sr has time for him but i dont know theres prob someone better. he needs to be well matched too, dont know is spike would be a good fight for him now etches or blackwell maybe. he will be a tough out though for a good few world level middles though but he needs to get himself sorted.

 

Saunders opposition's records in his last 7 fights has been 120-7. Saunders beat Eubank fair and he was the one walking junior to the ropes when they got in close.

The ref was fair.

 

BJS a domestic level fighter that's going knowhere...

Holding the European title & being next in line for a shot at the world title says otherwise.
