Kotelniks style is hard to watch he usually comes on around the 5 or 6th but Khan didn't give him a chance to come out of his shell.

I thought his performance was awful. Run rabbit run rabbit run run run & dont give the armchair fan his fun fun fun.

I dont even see any improvement under Roach, I expected much much more from Khan by now under Freddies tutelage, but if you can run & win by a shutout thats all well & good in boxing nowadays, only trouble is, its fights like that that drive people away from the sport & into MMA, UFC or whatever its called.
Man, I watched Khan on PPV & was bored rigid, watching him throwing pitty pat punches & running his way to a nice comfortble hometown decision with Frank Warren smirking about the ring before & after the fight... I watched Brock Lesnar winning the title in a grudge rematch & it was pure entertainment in comparison & the first thing I thought was, boxing needs to get its act together fast, cos for the first time I can see why people are deserting in their droves to UFC if that drivel is what people are expected to dig deep into their pockets for. & then to be patronized by the SKY 'pundits' that we had witnessed something great in a complete borefest of a fight? People arent stupid, excitement is excitement at the end of the day & boxing just doesnt seem to be delivering, especilly on these shores, Carl Froch excused of course. I got big respect for that guy, the way hes going about his career is the way forward for boxing, not that Warren show of mismatches & a non-event main event.
Sorry for the rant, but its a heartfelt one.

I mean people paid good money for that card, so Im allowed to shout about it.

Boxing is an art, you cant compare it to the UFC. If you want to see a lot of action rent a Stephen Seagal dvd

The resident Scottish dimwit strikes again...What an awful post that was.
Im not even sure your a boxing fan......how on earth could you ever say that was an awful performance from Khan? I can sort of understand if you thought it was boring but to says Amirs performance was awful?? Please shut the **** up.

You know, as does every other ****er in the world that Khans chin is one of the worst we have seen in a while. What exactly did you expect Khan to do? Leave himself open? Trade with a guy who has never looked close to being stopped? All for your enjoyment.

If you can't see any improvement in Khan under Roach then just stick to the UFC **** and stop watching boxing.

Khans has tried fighting an exciting and risky style and guess what? He got KOed in one. I would much prefer to see him box like that for the rest of his career then him getting knocked out in an exciting fight.

I don't even know why I bothered typing all that out.

The reason you thought Khan was awful - he's english. Sad ****.

Dunky if that was a scottish fighter you would say it was a great performance.

Also Lesnar Vs Mir was not that good Dunky. Lesnar got on top of him and did what he had to do a bit like Khan.

i dont think its fair criticizing his power, maidana threw everything but the kitchen sink at him and he still appeared unphased hell witter was given a close fight and i'm sure kotelnik rubbed off the few power shots that managed to get past his guard.

    No I wouldnt.

Ricky Burns is one of my favourite fighters, but did you see me come in here & talk him up when he got the UD against magee?

I certainly didnt, I was critical of his performance.

Dont be fooled by the posters who try & knock me down LHL, its too easy just to call me an english hater.

people have selective memories here, when I say something they agree with, its all pats on the back. 'Well said Dunk' etc. When I say something they dont like though? Im the evil anti-english scotsman.

Im used to it though, & I aint for changing.

    :lol::lol::patsch

Number one, why would an English boxer born to Pakistani parents have an Iraninan flag on his short......

And Number Two, so what if he has the flag on his shorts, was there any point you were trying to make??

I was simply asking the question, thats why I put a question mark in, & a scratchy head smiley.
I wasnt trying to be smart, I just knew he had a flag on his shorts that wasnt english, & I asked myself "But if Khans english, why does he have the flag of another country on his shorts?"

Thanks for answering my query, theres no need to be so defensive everytime I talk to you Antcull, I dont bite!;)

Hmm. Khan certainly seems to divide opinion!

Personally, I have to say that I was entertained. But that's only because I've seen most of Khan's fights and knew what the risk was of him trading. Everyone knew what he had to do to win and everyone knew what he couldn't do and get away with. Khan's appeal is that no matter how much he is on top of his opponent, he could get brutally KO'd at any point.

Specifically in this fight with Kotelnik, none of Khan's punches affected the Ukranian one little bit. This, coupled with his tight guard made it more a case of styles making a recipe for little action. I can't blame Khan and I can't blame Kotelnik who is very set in his ways and too slow to Katchakhan.

Roach is also not to blame as he formulated the gameplan that saw Khan tagged very little and made the fight an easy one.

The blame lies squarely at promoters doorstep. But everyone made money (Kotelnik included) and the fans went home from the MEN happy.

But nobody thought this was going to be a little man's Tyson vs Ali beforehand so I don't understand what the gripe is about after the fight. The only grumbles are from people sat behind keyboards watching illegal streams and others pissed off with paying £15 for very little entertainment. Hell, even the much hyped Hall/Small fight was eclipsed by Cleverley over on ITV4.

How many people would be complaining about the entertainment value if Khan was KTFO?
