did anyone have maidana winning the fight and in a rematch who would win?

Was this respected trainer Ajose's trainer you were taking to? how the fck ur gonna put him in the same sentence as Bradley and Alexander is beyond me. The guy was fighting Spitko a few fights ago for fcks sake.

And its one thing having the potential to find a chin, another thing actually finding it, and if u've made a career of fighitng bums, and only ko'd half of them, you're gonna get spanked when u step to face a speed merchant like Khan.

It was closer than Watt had it, that's my opinion.

Khan won but the KD and deduction made sure.

It was a great fight but Khan didn't blow me away, there's been some over reaction. Many of the same old errors. And sure, he survived, but he was very close to being stopped... so I'm not giving his chin a pass just yet.

Khan won deffo by at least 4 rounds ... as for a rematch well I personally think Khan would have learnt alot from that fight and would be more disciplined in his approach ! he surley knew he took too many chances but testament to King Khan he stood he traded and he won :happy

People had been telling me how much of an improved fighter Khan has become under Roach. However I must say that his glaring weaknesses remain on display. I was shocked that a fighter as crude as Maidana got through in round 1 though to his credit Khan gfought back well and put in a sickening body shot in that round to put Maidana down. I don't want to publicise Khan's weaknesses but I was impressed with his conditioning so credit must go to Ariza whatever he is doing conditioning wise. Khan has been granted opportunities that Ajose has not. Ajose keeps winning and will keep winning. He has done it the old fashiioned way to become the WBC number 1 contender. He fights the long awaited and twice rrescheduled WBC final eliminator on January 6th, 2011 and a win getshim a guaranteed shot at the WBC title which will be held by Alexander or made vacant after Alexander's fight with Bradley. If Khan wants to unify the title at 140pounds then Ajose will put him to the test.

Please when and if the fight is made lets have a big bet on it say $5,000 because if you choose to be a fool and back Khan then you deserve to lose your money.

Khan just got it on my cards on the night. The Knock down in the first and the points deduction screwes Maidana. IF Maidana could of got a knock down in the 10th who knows what way the judges would of went. The beating Khan took in that round it was deserving a 10-8 to Maidana but it is very seldom judges call it that as Khan stayed on his feet.

A rematch I would love it to be honest great fight well worth another watch. Dont think Khan is ready for the pound for pound fighters around his weight. How about a Super 6 in the Light Welterweight division with Bradley , Alexander , Khan , Maidana , Ortiz and 1 of Kotelnik , Olusegun , Kaizer Mabuza or even Paul McCloskey. It is a highly competitive division and even if Khan moves up I wouldnt mind seeing a Super 6 in this division. The winner then goes on to bigger and better things.

Bump. I had it 114 - 112 - Khan. I refused to give him a 10-8 round for the elbow, I wasn't sure if it could count as a 9-9 round as I thought Maidana won it so I put it as a 10-9 round for Khan. Here's my scorecard.

    10-8 Khan
    10-9 Khan
    10-9 Maidana
    10-9 Khan [Close]
    10-9 Khan [Elbow]
    10-9 Maidana
    10-9 Maidana
    10-9 Khan
    10-9 Khan
    10-8 Maidana
    10-9 Khan [Close]
    10-9 Maidana

    114 - 112

I thought round 4 could've gone either way, round 11 was close but not as close as the 4th, so I can definitely see why it was a close fight, but the most I could give Maidana was a draw. Khan was the better fighter, but the most important rounds that shaped the judging were Rounds 10, 4 and 5. It depends if you want to give Maidana a 10-8 round, whether you give Khan a 10-8 round for the elbow or Maidana the fourth. Either way, most I could give him would be a draw, even then I think it would be unfair, Khan definitely deserved to win and was the better man that night. Sometimes scorecards don't necessarily reflect the fight and who should win.

i saw the fight closer the second time i watched it, but def saw khan winning. there is a chance a rematch could be a shutout victory for khan. had the bodyshot landed earlier in the round khan would have finished it i feel. i think if you gave boxers a choice between being blessed with speed or knockout power, speed would be flying off the shelves.

    No, absoloutley not.

    I had khan winning 1-5, i think i gave maidana 6, khan 7,8 and 9. maidana 10, khan 11 and maidana 12.

    Khan 117-109

the fight was not even close aside from the lucky eyes closed shot maidana landed, making the last couple interesting.

    :rofl

tbh, Olu reffeirng to Maidana as a crude slugger is not accurate. I thought Maidana was quite clever in positioning himself, making Khan miss then punishing his mistakes. At some points he was even beating him to the jab. Khan deserves more credit than you think.

Khan looked better on the re-run, I had him winning by 3 and it could easily have been 5.

    Seconded.

At the time, in some rounds where maidana landed an ok number of punches, because of khans suspect chin, it was really dramatic, and i think some people gave maidana a couple of those rounds, when in reality khan pretty much outlanded maidana 3-1 in those rounds.

it was the excitement of it that made it seem close, if maidana was fighting some granite chinned guy like shane mosley, the shots wouldnt of been such an event and the scores would of been wider

You should score it 9-9. When a point is deducted, score the round as usual then deduct the point.

So 10-9 Maidana becomes 9-9. The way you've done it, changing a 10-9 Maidana round into a 10-9 Khan round means the 1 point deduction has cost Maidana 2 points overall, 1 you've taken off him and another you've given to Khan.
