After the first round? I didn't catch any of it. I mean every man and his dog could see the peril in rushing straight towards Pacquiao with his hands down under any circumstances, but whilst on shaky legs and slow reactions from the knockdown, jesus christ. Did Mayweather Snr tell him to put his hands up and calm down a bit?

All I heard him say at the time was "..move your head.." I wish Hatton could hear me because I was saying "..collapse all the way in.." IMHO, after the first round Mayweather Sr, if he was being real with Hatton, should have told him to just be himself and throw all that 'classical mess' out the ****ing window. Trying to "think" his way inside and "keep a cool head" wasn't ****ing working, and it never was going to in the first ****ing place. Hatton wouldn't have gotten past Kostya Tszyu with the **** they were trying to use on Pacquiao.

It's not like he followed his advice anyways (get the **** outta here with your undying loyalty to Hatton).

Second thread in a row.. Keep it up *****. Your need to annoy me isn't as strong as the points you're trying to make, so if you want to say something better say it with your ORIGINAL ACCOUNT - if it isn't already BANNED, troll.

Yeah agreed that being a bit more cautious against Tszyu would have backfired badly. The smothering of Tszyu worked surperbly. Tszyu was never much good at going backwards and for some reason couldn't time Hatton coming in (hard to believe given that Hatton in the Pac fight had no defence to speak of other than a bit of footwork and minimal feinting).

But to be honest I didn't see any of the 'thinking' or refined Hatton in the Pac fight. I saw about 20 seconds of cautiousness and the rest reckless abandon. He came out for the second round like a man possessed.

Hatton got past Zoo because he had the ref clearly in his favor.

Hatton wasn't moving his head or thinking properly. He thought he was going to overpower him and lunged his way in getting hit over and over.

Hatton did not listen to Sr at all.

Yes, he did come out for the 2nd round like a man possessed - and he was doing quite well wasn't he? THAT's when he was being effective. You may not have seen the "thinking," but it took it's form in the way that Hatton would RESET in front of Pacquiao and hesitate on the oustide. Note how he continiously went back to doing that.

Hatton is INCAPABLE of moving his head consistently. Can you not see the ERROR of having him try to do something he is INCAPABLE of doing?? The only thing Hatton should have been doing was COLLAPSING ALL THE WAY IN and keeping the fight on the inside. He had no business on the outside at any point at all period. This wasn't Paulie ****ing Malignaggi they were up against.

Which brings me to another question. Tszyu was an amazing fighter. Obviously a lot different to Pac. But Tszyu had phenomenal timing, accuracy, power and good handspeed. Why couldn't he time Hatton rushing in with his hands down in the same way that Pac did? Was Tszyu too old and his reactions had slowed? Did he fight the wrong fight? Did Hatton fight better? I mean Pac just made it look so easy its hard to see why Tszyu couldn't land that nuclear right hand.

Because Hatton never if only rarely gave Tszyu the opportunity of course.
