Wow! IDK anything bigger than the Final 4 in the US besides the Super Bowl. They just had Floyd up there on the panel with Greg Gumbel, Barkley, and the boys in between the 2 semi final games. Thats big exposure. I missed the begining but I saw where they asked him how long he was planning to keep fighting and he said about 30 more months......lol
they asked him if he wants to fight pac. he said hes got 2 losses and all he ever wanted was pac to do blood and urine testing
His performance was disgraceful! Huge exposure and he is not a color commentator by any means. His analysis of the Michigan vs Syracuse game was horrid. His best moment was when Charles asked him for one of his cuff links, followed by an extended close up of the diamonds, with "that's why they call him Money" in the background. It plays to his character, but an even average speaker, would have thrived in that situation. He seemed timid, and nervous with his stuttering and nothing of real substance. :deal
He missed an opportunity for a joke when Greg said "I don't think Floyd's fighting for two dollars". The silence which succeeded this line forced them to change the subject. I love Floyd, but he's just not witty. Imagine what CBS would be paying prime Ali if he were active today.
Damn! People still be asking that question these days? Does anyone pay attention to what is going on in the boxing landscape these days?
Floyd just doesn't seem comfortable when he's not around his usual crowd/crew. He stutters and says little of substance and his body language is always tense, his hands were almost gripping the chair last time he was on a talk show. I kind of feel bad, I feel like he wasn't socialized well as a kid. He's much more charismatic when in his element.
Kind of unavoidable when you grow up with a crackhead mother and abusive father who pretty much kept Floyd in the boxing gym all day everyday. Social skills will take a hit.:-(
Happens to most of them at some point. Awkward moments in front of cameras knowing the world might be watching you. Look at Ortiz, Alexander, La Maravilla. Poor *******s have had their good share of atsch tv moments
spot on. He seems only comfortable around the people he knows. I just think he doesn't know how to properly react to situations like this. He doesnt do good interviews but if I can remember he did a great interview with fight hub, when Ellerbe was around last year around the Cotto fight. I dont think he has much of a social problem tho. I could be doing a school presentation and stutter while being asked a question in front of the class but be normal talking to my friends anywhere else. Doesn't mean I have social issues.
Obviously he wasn't a real boxing fan that truly follows the sport. Only Casuals ask dumb questions like that these days.
it would be dumb to expect casual fans to know something like that when you got dozens of boxing nerds on here arguing about whats really going on between floyd and manny.
Mother **** the Final Four... The Final Four could suck my dick!! I watch some NBA Playoffs but The Final Four? Ohhh just **** off
