Apperantly Zab Judah and his promoter Roy Englebrecht have been suspended due to false licence documents they provided for last Saturday's fight. Anyone know more about this?
Over officiating, the card should have went through & then suspend whoever needed to be suspended :smoke
Right! Like anyone would let the card go trough on a false licence knowing about it. If anything happens they are responsible and would be sued dry due to neglecting their responsibility.
If they were presented with a false license, they take everything at face value, protect themselves legally & simply let it go through...Just like all commissions do worldwide. If anything happens it will turn into criminal charges vs whoever came with the false papers, commissions are not investigators & its not their job/responsibility to deal with deception :smoke They probably cancelled it, because they felt the whole thing was not worth ignoring, since Zab career is at the end :think
If Judah had to fake a license, it must mean he cant pass the medical or neurological tests administered to fighters. Anybody know whats going on with that?
ROFLMAO The state commissions are the biggest crooks in boxing that's where all the corruption starts. Just:think:think
I found out when I got an email from stubhub telling me that I will get a refund and the fight was canceled. Dammit Judah.
The "false documents" were for failing to disclose that Judah owes child support. They are supposed to disclose any liens and child support is considered that. How the promoter is supposed to know about a child support ruling by a family court judge in New York (presumably), I have no idea. By this logic, Pac should have been suspended for failure to disclose his injury. That is also a falsified document. I don't remember them suspending him or withholding his purse or fining him, but I could be wrong. The current commissioner in Las Vegas, who is relatively new to the job, has been creating problems for promoters at every turn and it has caused quite a rumble with major promoters. You might note that Las Vegas hasn't been getting as many bigger fights lately, and I've heard rumblings that it's because they don't want to deal with this guy -- he routinely turns down matchups on undercards for no good reason and has gone out of his way to alienate everyone in the sport. This card could have easily gone on -- let them fight, hold up the purse, fine Zab and send whatever portion that he owes for child support, slap the promoter on the wrist. Instead, he axes the entire card and suspends them both. That hurts the sport, the people who bought tickets, the venue, the other fighters on the card who did nothing wrong. I suspect you'll find this guy quietly shoved aside or "resigning" once the power brokers in Las Vegas who want and need boxing to thrive there get fed up with his power plays.
