Yes. I think it bolsters the point of a lot of British fans prior to the Calzaghe-Lacy fight that Americans knew very little about Calzaghe.

Yeah, he hates Mayweather and it is so evident whenever he commentates his fights. Commentators should be objective. I'll never forget before the Baldomir fight when he said Baldomir would give Floyd a real hard fight and Floyd might lose. After about 6 rounds of Mayweather schooling and dominating Baldomir, instead of saying "wow was I wrong" he just starts criticizing the entertainment value of Floyd and says that it's not an impressive performance. What a dick!! I don't know who was embarassed more during that fight: Baldomir or Manny.

 

Steward also gave a variation of his "this fight is going just how I thought it would" in one of the undercard fights.

 

You can't blame the guy. He has trained true greats with class in and out of the ring so it must **** you off seeing a know like mayweather getting all the hype.

 

Yeah, I noticed that too.

I also predicted Lacy over Calzaghe (60/40 in favor of Jeff) and did so out of inexcusable ignorance. I had seen Calzaghe fights, but didn't realize the extent of his talent at that point. And I thought Jeff was better than he is, too.

watch the commentary before the baldomir fight.....then in the later rds stewart said he would pick oscar to beat pbf....

 

Or ... it's because Floyd does not fight the way Manny trains his fighters, but Floyd still is the best. And because Floyd does not need Manny, he has a better trainer.

Point taken, but the Mayweathers built up Floyd from nothing. Steward only trains boxers that are already at the top. Did I just say "trains"? I meant "destroys", sorry.

 

He's the best current trainer in the sport & a legend. Instant Hall-of-Famer................
