Did anyone think Herol Graham did enough to beat McCallum......

The judges got it just about right. If Herol had been a little busier,he'd have earned the nod against McCallum. At this point in time,Mike and Herol were still the best two in the world at this weight.

 

No they were not man! If Kalambay wasn't the no.1 then Nunn was, can't quite remember the dates but it was before Graham-Kalambay II and before Kalambay-McCallum II.

 

McCallum-Graham was May 1989. Good points,Flea Man :good

 

But yeah I do pretty much agree though, both incredible fighters in what was a superb era :thumbsup

 

Yeah. I always say that if the 1970s was the golden era for heavyweights,in my lifetime,the 1980s was the same for welters and middles.

 

Graham threw the fight away with his excessive clowning and hands down antics.

Not that he was ever the example of a 100% textbook stylist, but he was capable of fighting far more disciplined than that.Which may not have changed the outcome, but gives the potential for a much different looking fight...it's a shame they didn't fight 2 or 3 times.

Ps. I`ve never seen the fight in question, I`ll make it my point asap but I do have quite a large `to do` fight list so **** knows when that`ll be happening exactly.
