He doesn't suck...time just got to him. Plus, he was a cocaine addict when he was younger. As a result, he has no stamina in his older age. This is one of the dangers of drug abuse...it weakens the aorta.

Father time has caught up to Tarver. He fought a young, strong fighter who is also a decent boxer. The torch has passed.

He may still look youthful but he certainly doesn't fight like it anymore. Not everyone can maintain their ability up near the 40 year mark like Hopkins.

No Tarver lost a step prior to fighting Hopkins. Thats why Hopkins fought him! The guy lost to Glen Johnson and then had a tough fight with him in the rematch. Roy Jones almost KOd him in the rubber match. Tarver was a good fighter, never great.....and he quickly got old. The Rocky film didn't help matters. Also He may have lost his hunger after KOing Roy, and once that goes.....

Don't know....but Tarve didn't look like himself....not taking anything away from Chad b/c what he showcased on Saturday was something of beauty. He showed us, speed, finesse, skill, reflexes, determination and something Taver can agree too....BRUTALITY!! Not that Taver was beat down, bc Taver had very good "D"....but a lot of those punches were NASTY! and the combos were beautiful.

No, in the sense that even if Tarver had not lost decisively to Hopkins 2 years ago, the outcome would not have been different against Dawson. Tarver is 39 and it showed against Dawson. It might not show against lesser fighters but against a guy as talented as Dawson, it showed. He was simply outclassed.
