    seconds after the first knockdown???

seems to me that bayless was concern for the fight ending in the first round that he gave hatton a couple of seconds to clear his head....

    thoughts???

it didn't matter, hatton clearly stated he was still shook from the 1st KD, even if bayless gave him extra time to recover.

Hatton was always going to loose that fight,

pacquiao is way too fast and accurate for someone like hatton to handle

and thats coming from a mega hatton fan!

Don't have it handy, but Pac didn't go to his corner, right? Dem's the rules.

"Bayless concerned it may end in the first round"... don't be a tool. The guy's a good ref in a sport that really needs them.

he did not "let him" recover. pacquiao had to stand in neutral corner during the count and he rushed too quickly. bayless just followed the rules.

No he was just doing his job. It was all for the best really cuz hatton survived and got KTFO in the 2nd round. It was a beautiful ending:good

djm is correct. Pacquiao didn't stay in the neutral corner - so Bayless had to push him back to it. No one to blame other than Pacquiao for those extras seconds that Hatton received. Now if you want to talk about a referee helping a fighter - how about that damn Dempsey/Tunney rematch?

I believe Pacquiao came out of his corner. I'd have to watch it again.

I've just watched it again after reading the opening post and have to say Bayless did an excellent job. He even had to refrain from jumping in just before the second knock down.
