I'll say that he cried unfairly. He didn't get pushed, he got punched. He was knocked out of the ring. He didn't look hurt. He probably was. Adrenaline. The old man lost. If you can't let that 50 year old man live then who can?

Yeah and during fight talk he said I'll never let a white boy beat me and lost. That's joe Calzaghe doe. And Pavlik, Tarver, Glen Johnson, Tito and more.

I didn't forget. You sayin he quit?

I should **** you up for saying that stupid ****! Lol

:buenrollo: You made that pretty clear in the op, OP. Dude, he's 51. Can you imagine the day when your body isn't quite what it was?

perhaps he was laughing inside at the symmetrical irony of losing his first and last fights to nobodies.

Seen it before with him. When it gets rough he starts looking for the door. Hopkins had everything, a great fighter but a bully with it...He pulls that face that looks like hes crying, to try an convince people !

He was knocked out cold for a few seconds when he smashed the back of his head on the ground. After getting concussed badly I don't think he wanted to take anymore damage so he invented the ankle injury.

He quit. Hopkins was clearly aware of his senses. He chose to not even attempt to get back into that ring. Because inside that ring was a man named Joe Smith and Hopkins decided that he didn't want anymore of it.

I could care less about Hopkins comments about no white boy can beat me. It's just trash talk and people get a little sensitive about pointless stuff. But Hopkins was an overrated, boring, negative, arrogant and annoying AF dull fighter who cried and whined and bitched for decades. And so I wanted him to get back into that ring.

Since when is age an excuse for acting like a jackass? If anything in his 40s and 50s he should have found the maturity to stop non stop bitching and whining. And perhaps cut down on the ego for a bit. But it never stopped.

There was no ankle injury. Hopkins was full of excuses as usual. This is a guy that would routinely fake low blows in fights, quit against Chad Dawson of all people and generally would act like a spastic when the going got tough in there. His interview after the Smith fight was one of the most embarrassing and cringeworthy things I have ever seen. He couldn't even keep all his excuses straight and kept contradicting himself.

Some personality traits are for a lifetime. One would expect a certain gain in wisdom with the years. But that seems to be an exception more than it is a rule. That's because in humans emotion is the guiding factor and not reason. In short, emotional needs take precedence and human reasoning ability tries to provide reasons for why they should take precedence.

    BTW
Accumulation of knowledge doesn't always erase such emotional needs. That's why we have college professors acting like buffoons.

It isn't impossible for an ankle to get injured during a fall like that. It could have slammed into the leg of a metal chair.
