Well, to defend those guys, they were fighting each other when Berto was padding his boxrec. I dont think Arum would make this fight because its such a low reward and anything can still happen in this game. Bertos option now is to keep active. Imagine him calling out Floyd??lol Floyd will laugh at him and rightfully so. Floyd will be going "No Money" "No Legacy" **** that!

i can't believe so many people think berto deserves to be talked about in the same breath as the elite fighters.
all he's done is beat stepping stone challengers who are also looking to make their mark, so a fight with cotto is a hell of a lot more realistic than pacman.

Im just curious, did HBO believed that a fight between between Berto/Hernandez was worth more money than Berto/Collazo II ?

Cotto might get him. But, Cotto is a good test, at this point. And it's the better fight to make, IMO. "Puerto Rico v Haiti" taking place in either NY or Miami would be huge.

Be a good fight could be a war right there, they can even do it at 147 or 154 just because for the life of me, how does Andre cut to 147? Miami would be a great venue.

Feel you. But, the division is getting thin right now. I admit...either Floyd or Pac would significantly carry an event with Berto, at this point.

But, it would be an interesting twist on things to see a fresh face in the mix, for once. Besides, why consider the Bradley v Alexander winner over Berto?

Berto probably won't get the call anyway...it'll be Mosely (sigh).

One thing I respect Oscar for, is that when he was the cash cow, he didn't leave the sport without passing the torch (or rather, giving an up and comer a shot to take it from him). I would like to see either Floyd or Manny do the same, before they retire.

Yeah..I don't know how he does that. He blew back up to near 160. I hear as an amateur, he was fighting at around that weight (154), anyway. They could do it at 154 for Cotto's belt or at 147 for Berto's. Either way...just seems like the right fight to make, in the new year.

What would be a Slap in the face to "a certain Camp" is if Berto Fights him at 154lbs. At a weight he's is NOW comfortable with...instead of 145lbs:-(.

It impressed me about as much as if he had beaten up some club fighter. Oh wait...

Cotto would beat him down ruthlessly. Don't get it twisted because they brought in a hand-crafted opponent for him. Berto isn't much to the elite fighters.

I was impressed tonight. But, I'm not caught up in the hype. I've seen Berto's notable fights. He has shortcomings. But, Cotto seems to be somewhat on the slide, while Berto is improving. I think it would be a good fight to make, now, in terms of a test. And it would produce a good event. If he moves up and takes on Cotto at 154, he can always retain his title at 147. So, he could make this a win-win. It's time for him to step up the competition.

We cannot use that fight as a gauge because the fight was done in an instant.

He weighed 160 tonight. I think a catchweight of 150 would be fine. I am sure berto is not making 147 any easier than cotto would.
