Did Beterbiev's Stock Go Up Or Down For You After The Yarde Fight ?

For me Artur's stock probably stayed the same
    - dips a little bit as some of the decline signs are there to see - I felt there were some opportunities to pull the trigger and capatalise on Yarde mistakes that a prime Beterbiev would have ben all over like white on rice. Whilst he was still pressuring, there was just a slight sign that the relentlessness wasn't what it was against The Nail, and he did seem to be bothered by the pace in rounds 6/7 more than i have seen before.
+ regardless of the above, Artur was savvy enough to cut his cloth to fit - he was patient, managed to really disguise being hurt well, and was great at turning momentum againts a younger hard-hitting opponent. He's still a ferocious finisher.

Beterbiev isn't as good as he was back in 2019 when he retired one of the best LHW's in recent years in his prime. This is obvious: he's 38 at LHW, has a lot of wear after a long amateur career as a front-foot destroyer and has to cut a lot of weight. But every fight Beterbiev wins by KO against a big, athletic, hard punching, tough and determined contender, his legacy improves. Said contenders can potentially KO even elite champions on their day, if they land the right shot. Every time you win against one of them, you're coming through the fire where other champions may have fallen.

Let's look at it another way: Roy Jones Jr was not 38 when he went 0-3 (2 by KO) against Tarver x2 and G. Johnson, he was 35/36. And he was in the midst of a 6.5 year streak where he scored ZERO KO's across 9 fights.

Up, he took some big punches from a very hard hitter and showed that his chin can hold up. Once again showed great resiliency and boxing skills. I actually favor him over Bivol now. Bivol doesn't have the power of Yarde and will not be able to keep Artur away like he did with Clenelo. Artur will get to Bivol and knock him out in the later rounds.

I think the stock of both went up. At age 38 against a real challenge he showed the desire, know how and temperament and skill to show he is still hungry for success.

The Browne fight showed what a dog Beterbiev is.

Went up slightly. Between this and the Joe Smith fight I don't want to ever hear this nonsense about Beterbiev being fragile and a glass cannon. ''Yeah that Beterbiev might hit hard, but he can't take a punch. Just look at the Callum Johnson fight!''

That being said, Bivol's schooling of Zurdo, not that Zurdo was anything other than light heavyweight Munguia imo, looked so good I think he can go 12 without being Broken Down(TM). Probably one of the best 50/50 fights in boxing though

Beating a ranked man always enhances your legacy a little.

But if we're to determine whether he his a better or a worse fighter, probably we say he is a little worse.

I think we have to put some respect on Callum Johnson's name and in particular his vaunted power instead of questioning Beterbiev's chin. Johnson just has seriously heavy hands and getting dropped by someone who hits as hard as him isn't indicative of a weak chin.

As I've said, you don't fight at the elite level amateur and pro for as long as Beterbiev has fighting with that style and against as many punchers as he has faced, including up at HW where he was giving away a lot of weight, and not have a very good chin. And he's still rocking a very good one at 38 years of age even though there's a ton of wear and tear and mileage on the clock. He's been fighting and training for almost 30 years and training like a demon for most of that time

These are all big or savage punchers

    Callum Johnson
    Joe Smith
    Gvozdyk
    Yarde
    Tavoris Cloud
    Hot Rod
    Marcus Browne
    Isidro Ranoni Prieto

Even some of the fighters he fought most won't know too much about like Hot Rod hit very hard. He had as many first round KOs (13) as Beterbiev had fights when he fought him
