After Pacquiao failed to look good in Marquez 3 (many believe Marquez clearly won) Bob spoke to Juan Manuel saying "stay calm, i promise you youll get the rematch . . . . we can do it again, we can do it again" . . . . . that sounds like an admission that Bob didnt want Pacquiao losing that fight . . .

Fast forward to Bradley and all of a sudden one of the percieved biggest robberies (HBO had it 120/119 for Pac, I myself had it 117/116) and Bob Arum was smiling from ear to ear hugging bradley only to belittle him in the press conference crying robbery and appealing for the decision to be over turned.

Just a theory but surely one way to make Manny look good in the eyes of the public and erase the memory of Marquez being robbed (without a shadow of a doubt) is to put Pac in those shoes, People HATED bradley and therefore praised Pacquiao as the rightfull winner.

Fast forward to Pacquaio/Marquez 4 . . . . . everything is set for Pacquiao to win against the ever aging Marquez now Pacquiao just has to knock him out or at least outwork him and it will be fine . . . . Boom 3rd round Marquez drops Pacquiao, next round or so Marquez gets wobbled and loses his balance touching his glove to canvas momentarily and finally the coupe de gras the punch that left manny flat on his face . . . . . kinda backfired.

No worries, Brandon Rios comes in as a human punching and Bradley despite looking better in the second fight and winning the first few rounds and suddenly just abandons his game plan leaving Pacquiao to dominate.

Lets think when was the last time Pacquiao fought outside of toprank? (not counting Algieri)

    Rios - Toprank
    Bradley- Toprank resigned
Marquez - Signed to toprank for 3/4 fight
    Margarito - Toprank
Mosley - signed to Toprank for this fight only
    Clottey - Toprank
    Cotto - Toprank
Hatton - Self promoted (Hatton Promotions)
Oscar delahoya - Self promoted (GBP)

For the last 5 years, 9/10 fights Pacquiao has fought Bob Arum stable fighters.

Arum promotes both fighters, doesnt share money with another promoter.

"In the 1st fight i promoted Manuel, the 2nd Pacquiao and now I promote both of them" he says with a chesire cat grin during the 3rd fight press conference.

Jessie Vargas was promised a shot Vs Pacquiao after Algieri and Arum is allegedly trying to get Floyd/Pacquiao done.

    BULL****

If there was any kind of protection going on, Bob wouldn't have let Pac fight JMM again - especially a doped up version.

Marquez wanted too much for a rematch and Manny has to make "pacquiao money"

IMO bob had the fix in days before the pacquiao vs bradley fight. It seemed that he had been building up Bradley for the last year and thought the public would accept him as "The Next Big Thing" and Arum could cycle his top rank bull**** on Timbo for years......Bradley in the eyes of many (myself included) didnt win, and didnt look like a convincing champ. It totally backfired on Arum, and he went to his original cashcow in pacquiao claiming highway robbery.

Seriously **** arum. **** like this, and Al Haymon coddling his fighters (who should be fighting 3-4 times a year but instead we get 2 fights against absolute cans) is ruining the sport.

Nice to read an interesting Pacquiao thread for a change over the endless Pacweather spam drivel

Its Marquez i feel most sorry for. KTFO6 should have rightly crowned him as new world champ and the first Mexican 4 division ruler

I thought about that before too. It's unfortunate that Bradley wrongly won that belt.

This kind of over thinking tends to get shunned on these kinds of forums... I personally don't mind, and I enjoy engaging sometimes, but you can see on other example of this going south

Apparently, this one is okay... Hmm, interesting

I did try hard to keep it off Mayweather and on topic but seriously when Bob pulls **** like this it makes it hard to believe that hes seriously interested in making the fight at all, not because hes afraid of Manny losing (although I think floyd is too good for him) but its because he stands less to gain financially personally from the fight happening.

Much easier to milk in house fights over a long period of time taking something like 30% from each fighter, I may be wrong on that figure, think i overheard it watching the manny pacquiao movie . . . . . digressing slightly but the documentary oddly enough exposes a few things, i was expecting it to be pac**** porno

But back on topic it is sad to see Marquez not get the WBO belt he deserved 1st time around but Bradley arguably beat him . . . . or at least make the fight close enough you could argue it in his favour. some credit to Bradley he was beating Pacaiao up a little early on in the rematch until he seemingly gave up his strategy and went toe to toe . . . . might have even thrown the fight after all the death threats he recieved first time around

Not sure if Arum did. If he did, he's an idiot as it did nothing good for either of them at all.

Yea, nothing good came from it. As a conspiracy, it hurts Pac too much so I'm sure its plausible.

when i think of fixed fights, it would be where the favorite wins by gift dec. or by phantom ko.

arum letting pac lose to timmy is like haymon letting floyd lose to maidana in their first fight.
