Pound for pound he was better. That is he hit harder.

I think Foster had better power or even power with Carp and Tunney. I give the others the edge. The other guys could hit a big heavyweight and keep him honest. Foster for all of his vaunted power could not do that. Heavyweights walked through Foster, even relatively small ones.

 

Foster hit harder than all of them. Foster hit harder at lhw than any other fighter did at any other weight ever IMO. For single shot concussive power he was the GOAT, harder than Hearns or Jackson or anyone. JMHO.

 

Foster hit harder than Dempsey ? NO!

I know Willard was a hulking redneck, but I doubt a '70 version of Foster could waste Willard like Dempsey did in 1919.......... Cheers.....
