Pity Khan doesn't conduct himself properly on our roads. His driving offences are hardly a good example to the young which is part of the reason they attracted widespread criticism in the media.
My understanding is that Khan's current contract with Warren expires this year. Not that he necessarily needs to leave Warren to secure big fights - he could have fought British Champ Thaxton or Euro Champ Romanov next for their Titles. Instead Khan seems quite content to talk about fights with the likes of them while they do the actual fighting.
Wow that was real insightful. Two totally different sphere aswell are music and boxing. If you want to talk Doherty and the type of people he attracts to his gigs please come to the lounge. Im willing to school you. By the way, I should add when I re-joined ESB in 2006 I was going through a heavy Libertines phase. I lover their music, but I have evolved some what in my tastes. The Doherty avatar is just a trademark now of mine. Seems a shame to change it.
Delving into more of the older stuff in regards to indie guitar music, like The Smiths, The Beatles etc. Back in 2006 you could say I was just your run of the mill scenester, NME kid. Can't say I rate alot of the recent stuff all that highly. When any 'scene' or genre gathers momentum, as whats broadly known as Indie did back in late 2005 early 2006 with Doherty's ever increasing media coverage and the Arctic Monkeys explosion, alot of **** trickles through with the good stuff I find. Looks as though New Rave might be the new fad with the scene kids anyway though, we'll see. What are you listening to at the minute? Btw totally agree about the thread. Boring topic to be honest. Khan really isn't worth talking about at the moment imo.
pete dochertys a piece of ****, and amir khan aint the most over rated fighter in the last ten years!!
Wow truly insightful stuff there noob. And your right Khan isn't the most overrated fighter of the past 10 years.....amongst boxing fans particularly those on this forum who rate to be exactly what he is: a good solid prospect. Your everyman on the street on the other hand, overrates the **** out of Khan due to the extensive and often absurd media coverage. There are those that believed that Khan in 2005 would have brutalised messers Corrales, Casamayor and Castillo. Now these idiots are not true fans, but unfortunatly they make up most of the population. In this respect Khan is grossly overrated. I have already said why I dislike Khan and im not the only one who holds that view. Now **** off unless you actually offer some insight into this debate.
Ah, right, ok, I see where you're coming from regarding "real" boxing fans looking down their noses at "armchair" fans. I don't have a problem with most casual fans, only the ones that spout opinions they've adopted from the Sun newspaper, or simply repeat what some bloke down the pub said. Worse still are the ones (there's a few of them on here now) that pretend to have wisdom about certain fights and fighters based on short youtube clips and boxrec records.
The overall debate running throughout the thread you idiot mostly concering the merits and failings of Amir Khan. That is the point of a boxing forum you know - opinions getting expressed and issues being debated upon.
if i was american i wouldnt be hyping khan up, i wouldnt give a **** about him. But hes british and it means he can fight the yanks, i wanna see him knock out some yanks. And i think hes got the style to suprise em Its good seing a british fighter go and **** up the yanks!! and i watched him in the Olympics as well so thats why i like him. I can remeber him just dazzling all the other fighters. And he does brighten up british boxing. Most british fighters are shyte and i do like his style i can relate to it.. some fighters you can relate to there style hes flashy, hes got the same eubank, naseem hamed factor.. hes one of them exciting fighters.. you cant say he aint??
I get a lot of grief and nonsense on boxing as the resident pub 'boxing fan' but for the most part it doesn't bother me. Some people are arses but most people are genuinely interested in what can be a hard sport to get into. Having said that I do hate it when the *******s are asking questions when the fights are actually on!!!
