    Why can't you like both?

You may have used to have been a fan but if you actually watched it recent years, you would know that in can be just as exciting as Boxing. Maybe not the same kind of excitment because thats just the nature of it but exciting nonetheless.

Same here i use to watch it before it became staged. I still have the black belt magazine with Royce on the front of it. When Pride died mma died! Now mma's about dry humping your opponent for 5 rnds. **** that gay ****, Boxing is superior to all forms of combat and that's the truth!

Because UFC isn't real mma, and pretty much all the greats are gone. There's a reason why Gracie got his ass spanked in Pride and not in UFC, the rules. In Pride you had ACTUAL muay thai fighters, kick boxers, wrestlers, etc that would learn a counter art.

Now it's just a sloppy mixture.

I wouldn't say it's fake, but it's definitely a hype job 90% of the time. There's only a handful of real legitimate MMA fighters who are good. The rest are just guys with bad tattoos, dyed hair, a crappy attitude and an American flag behind them to get the lowest common denominator fans the UFC caters to to chant USA! for them.

A good MMA fight is something special that even it's most ardent detractor can't hate on, but the problem is the UFC is so much smoke and mirrors and it's difficult to take seriously most of the time.

By Gracie I'll presume you mean Royce, and I don't see how he did badly in Pride. If you are trying to claim that he didn't do as well in Pride because the guys were very good at other styles then that is just so wrong.

Tell me what actual Nak Muays fought in Pride?

You had a few Kickboxers who fought in Pride, but Hunt and Cro Cop where the only ones who had much success. Well I guess you could count Overeem but he wasn't really a top kickboxer at that point.

There are waaaaay more top wrestlers fighting today than there were in Pride.

and while you are right about some fighters being a sloppy mixture there are some who are very good at one discipline and okay at others(and others who aren't so good at others) and you have guys like Aldo and GSP who are good at everything. Slowly MMA is evolving and guys are becoming more well rounded and good at everything and not just sloppy.

Hardly, there have been a few hype jobs in recent years but most fighters are the real deal.

There are more wrestlers now because the rules in the UFC today favor it. A missed shoot in Pride meant a soccer kick to the face, knees to the head, etc.

This is true, I wish they'd bring back knees to the head of a grounded opponent but stomps and soccer kicks are but much. I like them but I think they make the sport to violent to onlookers.

but there are more wrestlers also because MMA is bigger than it was then, and the biggest promotion is based in America unlike Pride which was based in Japan.

^That is why world class wrestlers used their experience more as a defensive or secondary weapon, that man loves going toe to toe

You should look up Maximo Blanco if you like exciting wrestlers. Remember the UFC isn't the only promotion.
