Now that the smoke has cleared was it the right move all along? 147 seems deep as ever

    BIG NAMES
    Mayweather
    Marquez
    Pacquiao
    Bradley
    Rios

    Rest of the bunch
    Thurman
    Guerrero
    Maidana
    Alexander
    Soto Karass
    Brook
    Khan
    Berto
    Malinaggi
    Ortiz
    Porter
    Vargas

We all criticized him for skipping 140 but it does not seem like he will be missing much action from this list Granted some of them are Top Rank fighters but still I don't think hes missing much at 140 save for Garcia, Provodnikov, Alvarado & Matt all of who will probably move up themselves Thoughts?

Yeah, going to 147 was definitely the best move. All of the top JWWs were tied up when he was last scheduled to fight. Now it looks like many of them are moving up in weight.

Why is it so hard for you to understand that Broner took the fight with Malinaggi to make money and an easy WW strap???

He will NOT campain as a Welterweight full time...that ain't rocket science...he hasnt even fought at 140 and has only ONE fight at 135:deal

Broner hasn't even vacated his lighteweight title.

The money fights are at 140..you best believe he will fight there.:yep

Naw, he should have stayed at his more effective weight and then waited to he outgrew the weight class.

Would you have rather him fought Marquez at his first fight at 147 after jumping 2 divisions? I can see if he was fighting Malinaggi types for a long period of time so I'll cut him slack for taking a non risk fight that paid well his first fight after jumping 2 weight classes

Also what big fight is at 140 Garcia? Matt? Prov & Alvarado are both with Top Rank.

I can respect this actually the only thing is, it would have been hard to find a quality fight for him had he stayed unless he waited on the winners of Garcia & Matt and for some reason I don't think Al Haymon wants that fight considering he probably wants one Garcia to build somewhat a legacy at that weight (although Matt is one of his guys too Garcia is younger)

He could have fought Gamboa at 135 and then pick up a title at 140 against Peterson (they're good friends though, so idk)

Yeah, I thought of that too that he might fight Peterson for his 140lb belt (relatively easy title for Broner to get) and suddenly he is 4 weight champion.

In a way you can't blame him for going up because he wasn't getting the fight with Burns and Gamboa was probably unlikely too. He went for the easiest belt at around his weight and got it, what was always going to be most interesting is what he will do after the Malinaggi fight: Stay at 147 or move back down to either 135 or 140.

yeah exactly. He seems to be down to fight Maidana, but I wouldn't advise him to do it. I think they're trying to rush him up in weight too quick. Floyd didn't get to WW until years of being at 130, 135 and 140

    :patsch
Gamboa called out Rios at 135 and hid under the house for a YEAR.

Broner would be a fool to wait around for that scab to grow a pair.

Broner is not Floyd. They are two different people, with two different body types. Broner is where all the action is.

    I doubt it.

    Broner will get the winner.
