Did Browne proved that it's not impossible to go in Russia and win?

Didn't know Russia even had such reputation as being an impossible place to win at, I thought that was Germany.

Is Lucas Browne a much braver man than Deontay Wilder?

Browne was eager to fight Ruslan Chagaev in Russia.

In contrast the pampered, over-protected Wilder just moaned something about it being "too cold over there"

I'm going to have to go back over the fight with a stop watch but it seemed a bit like the round where Chagaev knocked Browne down got extended a few seconds... and the 7th where Browne started laying into Chagaev got shortened, this comes mainly from other people's observations but I respect their opinion enough to want to check it myself. If that is anywhere near true then it's POSSIBLE to win but the odds are stacked against you.

HUGE respect to Browne, by the way - he exceeded my expectations and I am a happier man for it. Heavyweight division is as interesting as it has been for ages

Yup, Brown proved you could do it. Going to Grozny and coming out victorious says quite a bit. If it can be done in Grozny, it can be done anywhere in Russia.

Knocking somebody out doesn't really prove either way how likely avoiding robbery in a given country is..

Didn't Wladimir Klitschko already prove that against a far more celebrated fighter and athlete in Povetkin?.

    That's a different situation, though.

Klitschko was the incumbent champion and more established big name than Povetkin.

Going on the road as challenger (and the lesser known commodity) is always uphill and rocky going, all the more so when the country in question has a reputation for dodgy officiating.
