It's an acceptable fight if you wanna go the safe route with Pavlik. Vera's style suits him well.

If they want to go the high route and prove a point in order to get a big fight on the short term, Andrade is the man and suits KP's style pretty good too. Andrade isn't a big mover, nor is he a counterpuncher.

Vera is gonna bring it and this could be an exciting fight. This fight doesn't really help Pavlik and I was against it last year, but since Pav needs a tuneup after his issues, I'm cool with it now.

Two national PAL championships. Two national golden gloves championships. Olympic trials at age 17.

NABF title at age 23. Undisputed middleweight champ at age 25. One loss to a guy who was ranked #4 P4P in the world. One loss to a guy currently ranked #3 P4P in the world. 36 wins with 32 KO's.

    Ya -- he's a prospect all over again:patsch

This fight would make a lot of sense for the Pac-Mosley undercard. Pavlik would be a big favorite but Vera would make it a fun fight while it lasted. An action fight with a big name on the undercard would really help that ppv show since most aren't happy with the main event.

There's no way Pavlik fights someone too tough in this fight, he's been off for over a year by fight night and is getting out of rehab. There was talk of Pavlik-Vera several months ago and with Vera's big win over Mora I think this fight happens, will be entertaining, and makes sense.

Vera beat Max Alexander at 168, Andy Lee at 162, Sebastian Demers at 168, and Sergio Mora at 163. His best wins have all come above 160. He's fought above 160 almost as many times as Pavlik has. His career high weight was only one pound under Pavlik's career high.

Pavlik/Vera would pit a rusty former champ who has been plagued by injuries and personal demons against a solid club fighter. A solid club fighter who just scored the biggest win of his career.

In addition, Sergio Mora spent years talking smack about Kelly Pavlik, and Vera beat Mora's ass. Furthermore, I think if Vera would have settled down and been a bit more partient, he would have knocked Mora out.

All things considered Pavlik/Vera is a good undercard fight, and Vera is the right guy to make Pavlik shine like his old self.

I'm pretty sure most of ESB thought Mora would clown Vera... Just throwing that out there. :yep

I wouldn't be surprised if Vera could be at least a little competitive with this comeback version of Pavlik.

    FFS what you talking about

Any version of Pavlik destroys Vera inside 5 rounds, at 168 it will probably be quicker

I'm thinking Pavlik/Zertuche, and that was a VERY entertaining fight.
