I'm not sure that Arum even has a super middleweight other than Pavlik on his roster. He's had Francisco Sierra on a couple of cards though.

One of the three you listed is not like the others. Vera and Brinkley both might make sense. Bika would be an awful comeback fight, and I'd favor Bika to beat Pavlik if Pavlik is at less than 100%.

Make the Bika fight. That has war written all over it. I dont know who i would pick in that one. You would think Pavlik would be the favorite but what happens when Bika puts on the pressure. Does Pavlik fold? I thought i saw signs of him wanting to quit when Martinez had him cut up. Thats never a good sign for a fighter whos defense isnt the greatest cause he will get him.

The Top Rank website doesn't list any SMW's...it even lists Pavlik as a MW.

Maybe Bob inflates one of his other guys a few lbs to fight Pavlik?

All three are Contender guys with nothing much going on and would probably love to fight Pavlik. They have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

    Of the three

Bika is the most accomplished and has faced the best opposition...but has lost to them all. He wins 80% of his fights and has the best KO% of the group at 54%. He's won some minor alphabet titles but lost every fight at World Title Level.

Brinkley is the second most accomplished for having won a legit Regional title. He's beaten Gilbert (another legit Regional title holder) but lost at World Title Level (Bute). He has the best win % at 85% and nearly ties Bika (54%) with his own KO% at 53.6.

Vera has lost to Brinkley, as well as Dirrell, has never won a title of any kind and is clearly the lesser fighter. His Win % is 72% and his KO% is 48. Hes fought the weakest opposition of the group.

Bika is not a tune up fight. He's more on the level of title eliminator or a main event on a Top Rank PPV.

who has to earn a shot with pavlik? I expect his next fight will be against a lower quality of fighter than Vera.

Our good freind JSimps is freinds with Kelly, and hosts a radio show on the Youngstown ESPN affiliate. He is "in the know" and very close to Team Pavlik. He said Vera is the name that keeps popping up.

Vera tends to run hot and cold. His fights with Lee, Demers, and Mora show us that on one of Vera's "hot" nights he can make this a hell of a good 5 round dust up! Something like that is exactly what Kelly needs at this point.
