What do you think? How would you compare their resumes and achievements? Who had the better career? How would each man do against the other's opponents?
Well, all other things being equal Bill, Buddy's been retired for longer.... Anyone think Marlon Starling should have been in before Tszyu?
Neither man has a stellar resume, but I rate McGirt higher in terms of skillset, equal in terms of record, and possibly higher in terms of his best performances. Brown was a sensational performance and a great win, his revenge over Frankie Warren was world-class, his win over a prime Gary Jacobs was reasonably impressive considering how spirited a past-prime Jacobs was against Sweet Pea years later, his performance against Rafael Williams was just gorgeous, and although he lost I felt he performed extremely well in the first fight with Pernell Whitaker, all things considered.
Cheers for the response Pop. Pretty much agree with everything you said there. Some of my thoughts on the matter are getting sorted on the General Forum, so I'll just link to a thread there for those that want to follow it: http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=276001
Kostya's profile is whats getting him in so quick IMO. That seems to be the main criteria these days.
