Did Bute have only to beat the count or also show he was able continue ?
Also I'm not sure he made the count. He still was a little bit hang up on the ropes after 10 seconds (before the ref started warning Andrade). Does a fighter beat the count when he is still not up by his own forces ?

Here's an interesting question: How many times has this question already been asked? How many more times will it be asked in the days to come. When will the subject be so overtalked that people stop talking about it? And when will somebody suddenly bring it up again three weeks from now, just to get a whole discussion going about it again?

    I wonder?

Yeah, the fight was over but to beat the count, does the fighter has only to get up and stay up by his own forces or has also to show he can still fight ?
What does the rules say ?

I don't know the exact letter of the rules, but it would seem to me that referee discretion would rule here. Why should he have to check his condition too closely when the fight is over? A lot of people were angry when the Chavez-Taylor fight was stopped when Taylor was clearly out on his feet.

That fight was over for bute. He got up at 8 and was still wobbly at 9. Any legitimate ref would of stopped it if the fighter was still wobbly at 9. That ref robbed andrade of a KO win. Instead of counting bute out, the ref spent the whole time yelling at andrade to stay in his corner when he was there the whole time. Then when he was done yelling at andrade, he finally began the count at 8, when bute already had more then ten seconds to recover. Total b.s. ANDRADE WAS ROBBED!:fire :fire :fire :fire :fire :fire

The ref gave plenty of time for Bute to recuperate and he was still on the ropes not fully recovered. Thunder you know that was a bad call everyone knows that. Yes the time was over but the fight was not. There are rules and the rules say you cannot be saved by the bell and a boxer must be able to respond after a proper 10 count and this wasnt proper it was bull ****.

You honestly think he would have stopped Bute on his feet in the last second of the 12th after he outboxed Andrade for 11 rounds thus losing him the fight?

The ref shouldnt allow a fighter to continue when he is out on his feet even if there are 2 seconds left.

to me it would been controversy any way you look at it. andrade wins bute will argue he was up before ten and dominated before the knock down.. to me though it was dumb of bute to stand middle of ring and trade after winning most of the rounds if went on to survive the round there wouldnt be any controversy.i think the commentators said his corner made him fight the last round why?? risking **** like that. forget the knock out.they can just be lucky there wasnt any more time left. but anyways i dont think you have to continue when fights over just beat count. if remeber correctly in the briggs liakovich fight i thnk they said all he had to do was get in the ring and beat the count and it would have to score cards. but he couldnt back in ring and the give ou more time to get in ring then being drop. course i think its only 20 secs but i cant remember.but if anyone have that fight on computer see what the commentators was saying on there or see if can look up rules
