Thompson won 3 rounds out of 10 before the KO. I don't call that being competitive. He was right up on Wlad for most of the fight so I can see how people could think that. Brock actually had Wlad a little frustrated before Wlad figured him out and KOed him.
no, the eye injury happened in the Chambers fight, like Maxx stated. He had a detatched retina, a serious injury but not permanent with correct surgery - see Lamon Brewster f.ex. Unfortunately for Brock the surgery wasn't successful and he lost nearly all his vision in one eye.
I had him winning 4 rds out of 10 finished rds if I remember correctly, if that isn't competitive I don't know. Who has done better against Wlad since Peter? 3 rds or 4 rds, details. Brock did well in his fight and did indeed frustrate him, I'd say he did second best after Thompson. Anyways, details...
After looking back on it I could see how it could be Thompson do to how he did keep pressure on Wlad he was right up on him the whole fight. Thompson also showed in my opinion a very good Chin he took several flush shots before the KO shots I am not sure Brock could have taken. One thing I remember from the Brock fight is that he landed several right hooks to the body on Wlad I remember Wlads ribs were extremely red from those punches. It took Wlad 5 or 6 rounds to figure out Brock.
