Not half as funny as it would be if we still had access to all the pre-fight polls that were taken on here. Remind me who you picked again, Mr. I was ESB's Jeff Lacy's numero uno fan back in the day?

And again, Lacy had over twice the amount of amateur fights Calzaghe had (if this is an accurate representation of his true record), and he fought at a good level too.

So being a Lacy fan means that Lacy went into this fight as a supreme elite based on professional experience especially compared to Calzaghe? Let's be realistic here, everything is a popularity contest in the sport and Calzaghe was virtually unknown by the general public leading up to this fight which severely affected the odds. That said, if Lacy didn't pack his bags and belt like Kessler to make the flight against the air-sick(who miraculously recovered from the illness heading to fight senior citizens like Hopkins and Jones Jr.) no fight would have happened. You can enjoy Lacy's amateur career all you want, fact is he had 21 professional fights and was the biggest fight of Calzaghe's(who had 40 fights) entire career.

He was a complete donk even back then. He started off his ESB tenure as dull as dish water and he's gone right down the plughole now. lol

The fact that Jeff Lacy, an unproven and somewhat hyped guy with about 20 fights to his name, is brought up on a DAILY basis by brittards speaks volumes about the quality wins they as a country can collectively claim.

You're embarrassing yourselves and you don't even realize it.

Lacy doesn't have a single good win and he's brought up EVERY DAY by brittards.

What does this tell you about their collective accomplishments?

Lacy wasn't Joe's biggest win anyway.

Kessler, Eubank and Hopkins are all better names on his resume.

Hey Pryk, check out what your steroid riddled idols Roid Jones and James Phoney were saying about Lacy before the fight :lol::lol::lol::rofl:patsch:deal:pwned

    JuicyJuice07-22-2006, 03:37 AM
    JONES JR

"Lacy wins, and I'll tell you why. One of the main factors that would lead to a Lacy win is Calzaghe's heart.

"I'm not saying Calzaghe dosen't have heart, I'm saying he has too much!

"When Lacy nails Calzaghe and hurts him then Joe will try to get payback, and then he will be open to really get hurt - which he will."

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    JuicyJuice07-22-2006, 03:37 AM
    TONEY

"Joe Calzaghe-Jeff Lacy is a mismatch. Lacy is going to destroy that boy. He's too strong, he's a fighter - he's proved himself.

"Calzaghe never did anything. He beat Chris Eubank nine years ago, but what has he done since then? He's a joke, that's why he keeps pulling out of fights.

"I wouldn't be surprised if he pulled out of this one. Everybody in the UK is over-protected, but Lacy will be OK, because he's a fighter."

You use the word brittards in every second sentence and make multiple posts giving out about British fans and fighters, what does this tell us about you?

    Please answer my question.

And LOL at dumb brittard broadcasters having a Calslappy-Lacy poster behind their chairs. Just LOL at these sad morons getting so excited over a victory of a guy with no good wins.

You weren't simply a Lacy fan though. Your lips were were literally attached to his bollocks like they were covered in an industrial helping of Super Glue.

And no one's saying Lacy was an ATG or anything you moron. However, he was a good fighter and Joe sucked his soul out through his ass and shattered his confidence and his aura of mystique beyond repair. Suffering a horrible torn rotator cuff injury in the second round of his very next fight, where 97% of the tendon was ripped clean off the bone (the surgeon had to rip the whole thing off and reattach) certainly can't have helped matters.

Lacy is a nice guy too and he didn't deserve the vitriol and ridicule he was subjected to after losing to Joe, mainly by those who'd picked him to bludgeon Joe. :patsch

It's the sheer revisionism and sour grapes that is my main bone of contention. Fact is most of you ****ers picked Lacy to annihilate Joe and now over 90 percent of you are claiming that wasn't the case.

And Calzaghe didn't like flying actually. He could be convinced to do it sometimes but the phobia was very real.

'World champion Joe Calzaghe will conquer his fear of flying when he travels by plane to Newcastle ahead of his showdown with top American Byron Mitchell.

The Welshman makes the 13th defence of his WBO super middleweight crown on Saturday, May 24, at the Telewest Arena and has previously avoided planes whenever possible to instead go by train or car.

For the toughest test of his career, however, Calzaghe has decided to face his demons head on and will fly up for the date with the former two-time WBA world champion.

"I'm more worried about getting on a plane than I am about getting in the ring with Mitchell," admitted Joe.

"For my last fight in Newcastle I travelled six hours on the train from Cardiff just to avoid boarding a plane or going near an airport which stresses me out. I did the same when I came up for the Press conference announcing this fight
"I have flown in the past but if there is another way I can travel I normally will chose that. (I actually saw a feature on Joe back then and there was footage of some of his family members trying to convince him to take the plane).

"What has made me change my mind for this fight is that I'm going to face the biggest test of my career against Mitchell so a little thing like getting on a plane seems so small in comparison. Plus it only takes about an hour to get to Newcastle rather than sitting on a train for half a day!"

It was the first win to give him some recognition after 40 professional fights and his celebration after the fight explains it. Not to forget his comical responses in the corner as if he couldn't believe his self "Dad, he doesn't hit hard dad!, he really doesn't!, he hits like ****!". Eubank sure as hell wasn't a better win nor is it worth mentioning. Eubank was coming off a loss to Collins and two exhibition fights overseas. The victory over Eubank was as terrible as his victory over Jones. His only noteworthy fights are Lacy, Kessler and Hopkins.
