Calzaghe pulled away towards the end of the fight, but not a schooling. Kessler won about 4 or 5 rounds , i thought.

It was a combination of Calzaghe's talent with working the gameplan effectively and poor coaching from Kessler's corner.

The fight was competitive for the first 4 rounds in a chess match but then Kessler's team changed the gameplan and told their guy to go after Calzaghe. Kessler practically abandoned his jab that made him so great which allowed JC to almost sweep every round thereafter excluding the 12th.

Its 9-3 fight for JC, 7-4-1 at most if you are reaching for Kessler.

More nationalistic or not, Americans don't pick fighters or feel that their fighter won just because they are American. Euros are completely overboard with nationalism in this aspect, as well as being far, far too biased.

Did San Rafael say something about America being the greatest country in the world and that every other country should obey America's commands at all times? I'm pretty sure he never said anything close to that. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Kessler may have been better on his feet in 2007, but I firmly believe that this was accentuated by Ward. Kessler was confused by Ward, which made him hesitant and look flat footed against Ward's versatility and masterful footwork. Kessler will look like Muhammad Ali against Froch.

I thought Calzaghe won it fairly easily despite the early part being relatively close, but it certainly was not a "schooling".

I'm sure in the past the general consensus from many Calzaghe fans was that Kessler really tested JOe and took it to the wire, it proved Kessler's greatness, something I never agreed with, as I never thought it that close a fight. There seems to have been a change of opinion nowadays, coincidently after the Ward fight, that Joe beat Kessler easy.
