Did Calzaghe's extensive roadwork give him the mental edge???

It just seems to me Calzaghe's roadwork was serious!! And i believe besides the obvious.... physically and mentally, he knew nobody could outwork him!! This was very apparent when he was training for RJ, Calzaghe was on the road all the time, while RJ was dancing etc. I doubt very seriously he logged miles like Calzaghe and i believe it was the key to Calzaghe's success in his career!!!!

Jermiane Taylor needs to take on Joe Calzaghe's training regimen.

If nothing else, Calzaghe was always fantastically conditioned to go a full 12 in every fight and hustle every minute of every round. A rare thing nowdays

The guy had insane stamina, to throw so many punches (whether you think they were full fat punches or not) for twelve 3 minute rounds is immense.

Go and try to throw that many punches at a bag for 3 rounds and you'll be wishing you could breathe out of your arse too.

thats true. calzaghes conditioning was excellent..all the more reason why he should have tested himself against proven world class fighters in their prime

    absolutely.

you cant question his conditioning, that was outstanding every time.

but dont you think its ironic that a fighter with his skills and conditioning never wanted to fight the best in his prime....
