Did Canelo jump the PPV shark?

Has there been a lot of advertising for this fight?

 

They're banking on Mexican live gate, billing it as his "return home"; the opponent for this date never really mattered.

 

The local buzz for this fight is probably insane. How often do big fights happen in Mexico?

 

Yeah i didn't even bother watching the press conference as i knew nothing would be said from either side so stale,

Just checked & it's this weekend didn't even know that, it's more of a warm up for Canelo & his surgically repaired hand so that's probably why.

 

Im a huge Canelo fan, and im not even hyped for this fight. That says alot.

But I am not considered casual enough.
For instance the group of casuals at the party I attended & Watched the tank vs Ryan fight with - likely have no idea about it.

just the way I like it.
$54.99 PPV is nice too.

This is a Mexico fight. They will make it a huge success. His homecoming.

 

Same. I'm still watching and buying it though, but I haven't talked to any of my many casual friends about it except for one and that's just because he asked me what I was doing tomorrow.

 

Ima watch it too, but it will be like watching a UFC card for me..

 

B-sides matter, and John Ryder (as much as I like him) is not someone you would go with from a commercial standpoint.

There’s also the fact that people want to see Canelo face Benavidez, or at least a Bivol rematch. So a Ryder tune-up doesn’t really cut it even for a lot of hardcore fans.
