Munguía made him look old in spots but didn’t do enough to win.

Looked like he always does in fights these days more or less. Coasted for a good chunks of it but when he decided to get going the gulf in class in evident. Grandpa GGG did much better than this manufactured limited bum. I can't believe so many people on here actually gave him a good chance.

I was thinking that watching the fight. Triple Geriatric that was slow as molasses was bullying Canelo the last 4 rounds of their 3rd fight. That version and the one that fought Murata would KO Munguía.

One of the DAZN ladies, Claudia Trejose said when she interviewed Bivol after his fight with Canelo,he said that Canelo punchs like a mule, then shows him the bruises already forming on his arms, he thats why he kept his distance and was in and out.

It was competitive but not very close, there was no point in time that I was like "damn Canelo might be up against it". If anything, I was like Canelo could probably get him out if he really wanted to..............

Munguia is not any better than I thought, he's exactly what I've been seeing since he was a JMW, I think Plant beats him TBH and I dislike Plant immensely. Morrell, obviously Benavidez etc.....

He started his career 21 lbs south of 168. And he's not fighting bums, he's fighting world level proven fighters.

Hard to KO guys when they've proven they have iron chino, or come to survive.

    Them are facts

Not at the elite levels of the game.
    Beterbiev hasnt experienced that level.
Hell, only really a few people experince that.

You see teams go to The Super Bowl all the time and guys falter under pressure.

Theyve played football their entire lives, yet the experience on that stage is different.
    Not the same thing.

What does his weight 15 years ago matter now?

He is big enough now, that's all that counts.

Fighting "world level proven fighters" is what champions do, so I don't get what that has to do with it either.
By that logic, nobody should ever be knocking out anyone at the elite level.

It simply doesn't make any sense.

Come on guy, you're not that dense.

Who has a better resume between 154-200 today?

    I'll wait

I agree, this is my entire point.

He had this (unfounded) reputation as this really dangerous knock out artist (I'm talking about the way he was sold to the casual) and the evidence suggests that's not true.

He's finding it harder and harder to really get to guys and finish them.
He is trying, clearly, but it's like he's lost a little something...and at the top that's enough to make a difference.
tI's almost like you can predict that he'll go through distance these days.

At this point, i think he should consider retirement.

I don't think he will go back to light heavy, as the best guys there are too much, and I don't think he can cut to 160 anymore - so that leaves 168, and that makes Benavidez impossible to ignore, and i don't think he wants anything to do with him.

    That's irrelevant.

We are discussing his inability to finish guys.

Again, are you suggesting that nobody at the elite level ever knocks anyone out?

Do I really need to sit here and list every elite operator who has knocked out another elite operator?

That's a dense take you have.

No not a mismatch, though I don't think Canelo was in danger of losing post-knockdown.
