i loved the fight. Thought it was very technical. I prefer a style like alvarez who doesn't throw ofter, but when he does, they are hurtful damaging punches. I find that better too watch than fighters that throw alot more but ll the shots are pitter pat. Fighters like Calzaghe, Cleverley etc, i find it ugly.
No sorry *****, he did what Mayweather does only better, against a better opponent who would have beaten Floyd and showed more versatility by coming forward too.
:shock::shock: Hardly. Good fight though. Canelo obviously won and it was only close because he chose to pick his shots and fight smart. A more reckless Canelo might have stopped Trout but the point was winning, which he did and without getting touched with anything significant in return. Great movement even in restraint.
He fought a beautiful fight in my eyes, I was actually pleased with his performance. I believe was a close fight and maybe Trout won more rounds but not a robbery. It's nice to see a young talent like Canelo using skills and not brute force in a fight. His head movement against a slick fighter like Trout was a beauty.Canelo never got hit flush ( trout has no power whatsoever ) and he looked like trained by Pedro Diaz himself . His power was still there ( see rd 7) but he didn't abuse of it. Does he need to be more active? Maybe, but at 22 he has plenty of room to improve. I enjoyed this fight more than his victories against Lopez or Mosley ,he really convinced me saturday night.
Canelo basically ran after Trout hurt him to the body. Canelo was also dead tired and was even being walked down in a few rounds, including the round he scored the knockdown in. Canelo fights in spurts because all he can do is punch hard, then he gets tired, saves up a little energy to punch hard again. Rinse and repeat. I thought he was supposed to be this unstoppable juggernaut, but he was wild and sloppy. 2 or 3 hard punches in a 60 second span doesn't make up for the other two minutes that you retreat and get clocked.. The fight should have been scored a draw at the minimum. How can you fight for 40 seconds in the majority of the rounds and still win? Trout regained control of the 7th after being dropped because Canelo was tired and was being walked down. Lord help this kid if he gets in with someone who will press him when he eventually gasses like he always does..
Yeah I agree that they were scared of getting hurt but only because they respected eachother's power. Either one of themcould have knocked the other out if they fought toe to toe. They fought intelligently. Overall it was a good boxing match. The only thing that I was disappointed with was Stanley Christodoulou's scoring... 109 to 118 is a bit ridiculous.
I appreciate his craft and skill....it wasn't the most exciting fight but I think he adjusted his game plan to ensure he had the best chance at beating Trout. Canelo showed a level of composure that most young fighters don't have and he did take some risks....but he stuck to the game plan.
No, the fight was exciting, especially with Canelo throwing some hard ass punches. Floyd Mayweather fights with pillow fists; his fights aren't at all exciting. We were jumping in the air once Canelo got that brutal ass knockdown. I hope Floyd fights the slick, ginger soon.
Saul got hurt by a body shot and made he start fighting on the backfoot but you got to do what you have to do.
Lmfao @ ran. Only a ****** will say that. So you saying canelo ran just like the way khan ran after maidana hurt him? :rofl
You are a ****ing clown. What do you need "running" defined for you? Canelo was "retreating" most of the fight. Is that better? I hope you have a dictionary handy ass clown....
